Lightbulb Miracles Happen- ManHater No More

I wanted to apologize to the men of the world (& SW) for all the mean things I've said about men.

Certain recent events have proven to me that the best friends I've ever had were males.

When I really think about it, men should be commended for the forebearance they exercise when the world assumes they really don't try to restrain or edit themselves. I've really listened to what some men had to tell me about their lives and it's a shame that male reticence prevents them from being given credit they deserve.

I regret being hateful towards men. I am sorry I was this way and my life is happier place now with a better understanding of men.

    Thank you for reading this.

Well, sex workers see a lot of the scary side of men...I was partly hateful because of that. But I'm just lucky good men have come into my life. It took years for me to really hear the phrase "Not all men are the same."

    So uhm,

Are you goign to give into detail, what just so happen to change your mind.

Or is someone holding you at Gun point? I know not all men are the same, why you all of sudden think this?

Oh, I didn't want to bore anyone with details...I spent a lot of time talking to a man I work with and he really changed my mind about men. (I don't want to out him but I work with him in the Midwest frequently.) I also met someone but since we both travel for work I'm not going to hang high hopes on things working out for us. Still, he impressed me deeply.

I just happened to meet several men in the past 6 months who were not grossly off-putting or scheming. Instead of talking at them, I listened. The word that comes to mind is empathy- without pitying them.

There's more to it but it's too lengthy to go into.

I, too, came to this realization not too long ago. I've never been a man-hater as such, but I was given more insight into what is really going on.

I have a lot of sympathy for men and what they go through, also. Each sex has their own innate conflicts and deepness.

I think men are fascinating sometimes, and I really do like them. I think this is why I enjoy my job so much. I understand that to the right man, I really am making him feel better and allowing him to relax.

There is so much more to it that is ever said - Yes, they do excersise restraint, much more than we give them credit for.

And sometimes, women DO need to learn when to STFU.

Bottom line...we need to learn to communicate MUCH more effectively than we do now. And Dr. Phil is not really helping much, IMO. But, YMMV.

    Great post.

You've had your resentments, maxie, but I never got that feeling from you personally when we've swapped comments. You've been a good online friend. But congratulations on finding a healthier plane in your thinking. Happiness and serenity come so much easier when you develop more insight and take more control with your own frame of mind.

Awesome MM. I am of course curious what was said that impacted you so.

People, people. Isn't it obvious? MM has been kidnapped, and her abductor--undoubtedly an evil but clever man--has posted this unlikley thread.

All kidding aside, MM, I'm glad you're feeling better, whatever the cataylst.

Well, I'm glad some men have turned it around for you.
I'm still trying to find some awesome ones that actually do just want to be friends, but I guess I can't be too mad about that. It's just mother nature:p

Well, I can't remember you being rude to me - so I figure an apology is unnecessary in my case.

Life's a learning experience. As we grow a little older and a little wiser, we hopefully also grow a little more tolerant. I'm probably a kinder and more amiable person than I was in days of youth. Looks like you've been travelling a parallel road.

I think in our business we see too much of the shitty side of men and it's easy to forget that not all of them are like that. I'm glad you're in a happier place maxie.

Somehow I've always managed to have some kind of relationships with good men throughout my dancing career so I never really hated men, was able to remember that it's only SOME of them who are worthless pieces of shit. And there are always the guys in strip clubs who are actually nice, even when in an environment where so many feel there's no consequence and they can get away with anything.

I have a couple male friends I've known almost as long as I've danced and they have really helped keep me grounded. Yay for good men!

MM, I've always liked the way you've blasted all the insufferable manipulative assholes with all the venom and fury in Hell, but I've never, ever thought of you as a generic man-hater. Not once.

You've said some of the kindest and most insightful things in the world to me and several other men on this site. And I think your attack posts are not only justified, but hilarious. Can you promise to still post your thermonuclear chainsaw attacks when somebody richly deserves them?
