    Alaska?

My roomie and I both dance in the Dallas area at topless clubs, and she has a hankerin to see Alaska, so at some point we'll go for fun if nothing else (we both also work for an airline so travel expenses aren't much). But then I figured, why not work as well and mebbe clean house, since Alaska supposedly has like a 50:1 man to woman ratio or something lol

Soooo, what's the scoop on Alaska? Would it be worth it to line up some work while one's out there (and if so where?), maybe even make it a regular moonlight gig, or not? And why in either case, TIA

i asked this some time ago, and the general consensus was, working at an SC wasn't worth it.

Don't bother in winter. Deadsville. In summer, maybe. It's apparently not what it used to be, like everywhere else lately.

I was there for the month of July this year. I did pretty well but 1) I camped in a tent the whole time so I spent almost no money, 2) I booked my flight and car way in advance and used my corporate account to get a price below $600/week for the car, 3) I worked almost every night. The money wasn't fantastic.

I would go back next year, but local politics have me concerned that the club probably won't even be open next year. I don't wanna book a trip under those circumstances. Furthermore, the club I worked was not in Anchorage and I will NOT work in the Anchorage clubs - too much bullshit for not enough money. Even if you get your flight for free, there's rental car, lodging and food to pay for and it's not cheap. Although if you can afford to take a trip to AK and not count on working to pay for it, I do highly recommend it. Absolutely one of the best things I've ever done.

Wow! Those are some of the coolest pictures EVER. I can't imagine being that close to a real live bear!

Seriously, at one point that mama bear and her 2 cubs were about 40 feet from us as we stood in the water trying to fish. I would've never dreamed I'd be that close to bears in the wild like that. When they got that close and kept moving closer we decided it was time to mosey on back to the plane and head out. Mama was clearly claiming that fishing spot for herself. Haha! When I took that photo she was in the exact spot in the water where I'd been just a few minutes before.

Everywhere I went was just ridiculously gorgeous and I did not want to leave but the weather is only nice in summer, very brief, and business there is deadsville rest of the year too.

I sure did get some needed perspective on a few things while I was there, and even if I never go back I'll remember it as one of the best things I've done in my whole life.

And btw those pics were just a few. I posted more on my myspace...

WOW those were truly gorgeous pics! Alaska is one of my must-see places; now I have concrete reasons why!

Bummed about the wah-wah clubs though. That would've been a great place to wear my furry legwarmers!

I speak highly of the Alaskan men, but I wouldn't work there again.

Why? The money was really sucky? I just got into a conversation tonight with a customer about stripping in Alaska so I could see the the land. I've always wanted to go there. Fuck Hawaii.

there are very few clubs, and the ones who are there are swarmed with girls. by swarmed i mean fuckin' SWAMPED. there are so many girls that making a buck is so tough let alone enough money to justify your time. the alaskan girls have a hard enough time without out of state girls coming to AK too. it's just not worthwhile! strip in north dakota or minneapolis, and then use THAT money to go up to alaska. really. not worth it.

    Love it!
