Default Need tips on learning to eat less..

My metabolism is crazy high.. I know it's from the yoga training, where I was doing 2 yoga classes a day and a shit load of other things. They told us to eat twice as much as we normally do. So my body has gotten used to eating tons of food at one seating.
Now that I'm not doing it, I'm always and I mean always hungry to the point I get headaches.

My usual fruit and veggies isn't doing it anymore. I'm SUPER hungry like all the time but, I'm worried about gaining weight since I'm not as active.

    Any suggestions ??

    Tip to eat less:
Use smaller bowls and smaller plates.

Drink 8oz or more if you can do it before eating. You'll feel fuller and eat less.

Eating is extremely mental as well as physical. Your body has gotten used to taking in more food since you've been doing more activity. This was always the benefit of being an athlete for me. 3 hours of practice in the afternoon and an hour of weights in the morning meant I could eat like a horse. Now, that's not the case for either of us anymore. When you feel as though you're going to get hungry and it's not time for a meal or snack, drink some water and chew gum. One sensation in your body that sends a signal to your brain that you're feeling full is jaw muscle fatigue. That's why that old addage to chew your food thoroughly (almost obliterate it) before swallowing is around now as a dieter's tip. Food hits your stomach and you don't start feeling full on that alone. Your jaw muscles begin to fatigue which tells your brain you've been chewing for a while, which means you've taken in a sufficient amount of food. Drink water, chew gum, and occupy your mind and hands. I work on jigsaw puzzles all the time and it keeps me focused. Also, if you have to have a snack, and you're tird of fruits and veggies, try some Dannon Light n' Fit yogurt. I buy the big containers of vanilla and have been eating it almost every day since May and am still not tired of it. You're also going to have to deal with hunger pangs. You might get a slight headache, but you're adjusting. That's never fun, but sometimes you just have to deal. You won't starve.

Thanks for the detailed reply ! I wish I could still excercise like crazy but, there isn't enought time in the day to do EVERYTHING. You're right about the jaw reflex, it's dying to be put to work now..I can feel it. I stopped chewing gum because it causes me to be bloated and gassy, not cute when you've got to look hot for work ya' know. Maybe I can get celery or something else to snack on.

^^Celery with peanut butter. Peanut butter will give you some protein, and the celery will give you something to munch on without being bored. Mmm...now I wish I had some celery...

I wouldn't drink water right before you eat! It will dilute your gastric juices and make digestion less efficient.
All the people I know who eat mostly raw foods have said this. It is also recommended in books like Fit For LIfe, to not drink any water at least 30 mins before/after you eat. If you do just take small sips
