Default Chicago: VIPs, The Admiral, and Scores

I've done searches on these clubs, and there's some information, but I wanted to know how each of these clubs are about hiring.

Is it mostly fake-boobs, blonde, perfect 10 types? (From the website I would think so, but you can't really tell from that.) How hard is it to get hired and is there a lot of competition money-wise?

    Thanks.

I was a customer at VIPs this summer with Chicagoeditor and some friends. They had all bodytypes and styles. I actually had a hard time finding a dancer with big fake boobies (thats what my hubby likes) There were a handful, but they were pretty much taken. It was a fun club. Very clean, no touching. I'd totally work there.

Thanks for the response. That's good to hear. I'm just researching the clubs for when I move there next year. I know it's a little soon, but I can't wait to move to Chicago!!

I don't want to be a downer as I think VIPs is an excellent club. The city of Chicago is revoking its liquor license. Being the only adult entertainment in downtown with booze, VIPs has always attracted good business. Take the liquor away and I dunno. VIPs might appeal again and win. The business seems unsteady.

Sad. Yes, that's a death blow. Oh well. Another club will rise in its place. This has happened at least twice since I've lived in Chicago.

Oh, nevermind. I looked at the article.

So Scores can serve alcohol? Is that because it's not down town? The admiral doesn't serve alcohol?

Well, Scores is not in Chicago, it's kinda close to O'hare. Grinding, so I've heard, and liqour, it's only topless (no pasties) and it's a gown club u have to wear the T-bar thong and all that.

VIP's is centrally located in Chicago which attracts rich, yuppy clientelle - great! Def a lot of money there, you gotta wear liquid latex on your boobs which kinds makes you feel unsexy and hurts, and like booty short grama panties kinda.

I worked there and it was winter so it wasn't too great but if you come at 4 pm house is $40 - you just have to pay right away unlike other clubs where you work to pay it. AND the wonderful part is it's the ONLY strip club I've been to out of like the 10 or 12 I've worked at that pays you by the hour! It's only 6.50, but hey waitresses and waiters get paid 3.50/hr plus tips, so a paycheck PLUS stripper tips is nice!

In Chicago there is no grinding allowed, and no nudity with liqour. So if you work at Admiral, you can see full nude chicks, still air dancing, but crabbier customers cuz of no liqour. Admiral has a JUICE BAR... lol. But It's a lot bigger and prettier than VIPs, but in a crappier neighborhood (Which I grew up in, Albany Park, isn't that funny?)

VIP's has liqour and a lot of girls, sooo many girls... they are similar to the clientelle - kinda upscaley looking girls. Admiral's girls are pretty too, you're bound to find the more crackheadish icky kind there tho but hell, those are in every stripper agency/club, and Admiral was my very first club so who am I to bash.

I just know that outside of Chicago there's club that aren't so big and ritzy with drinking and grinding, but in Chicago it's actually cleaner (to me) because of the crazy conservative Chicago law.

Ha, just out of curiousity, anyone remember Scarlette's??

Thanks for all the helpful info!

Here's another question: Is there money to be made just outside of Chicago? Suburbs? Even further out? I don't mind a little griding, so as long as the clubs aren't xtras city I'd consider it. I plan on living in the suburbs and having a car. Do some girls travel say, Wisconsin or Indiana to make good money? I read some good things about the St. Louis area clubs.

Once again, just getting an idea of the area. It's probably good for general updates on Chicago, especially now that VIPs liquor license is gone. I want to know if the dress code will change too now that they can't serve liquor.

I suggest VIPs as they do pay you hourly (nice like getting your house paid back) and its very classy, upscaley, and centrally located in Chicago. Their hours are a lot -$500 per hour for a VIP, $250 for 1/2 hr, then just $20 dances. You tip out a percentage and when you do, minus the house you already paid (you're not tipping out twice, you pay house when you get to work and they'll tell you what I'm telling you too.)

They'll also give you an instruction booklette. Gowns suck but you can wear a theme every wed and make it super fun and something to look forward to out of your workweek. Admiral is really a lot harder of work bc of those damned $10 dances, you can't do 40 of those your poor dancer legs will die!!!!!!

In the burbs, the areas are a little bit different depending on which burb you go. Sometimes w all that grinding I get sick to my stomach, I can't stand being paid $20 over and over to keep going almost like you're having sex w/ them, but that's just me.

You could always just go over and VISIT a club for a night and check em out before you try and make a commitment. That's what I suggest. I don't know exactly what kind of club works for you, but if you're not from around here just read a lot of reviews here and on STL.com (But stl can be a bit crazy so stick around here really I'd say) and check which sites of the clubs look legit, call and ask them lots of stuff bc clubs tend to really not give you info voluntarily and you can tell if they sound shady if you ask em certain things and they get that tone on the phone, c'mon we're strippers they can't bs a bs'r

You wanna work at a bigger, nicer one, I'd say. I just don't want girls to end up somewhere icky!

As a guy, I can't say much about your money potential, but if you come to the south suburbs, I'd choose Club 390 or Jimmy's in Chicago Heights. 390 is a larger club with a nice stage and VIP area. Jimmy's is a friendly bar-type environment that does have a nice private dance area. You should avoid Club O in Harvey, as I hear that extras are rampant there. Most of the other Harvey clubs have that rep as well, except for Skybox, which is owned by the same people as Heavenly Bodies up north. As I hear it, management charges a big house fee and fines like crazy at those two clubs and their other one, Cowboys.

I know that you guys are discussing certain clubs in Chicago, but I wanted to know of other clubs particularly for women of color if you know of any. I like nice clean clubs with no touching. I'm from Atlanta and I've started to venture out to other states to work. Last year I worked at Cowboys for one night. I never came back because when it was time to go home, they would not let me leave with my ride because they said that they had a problem with prostitution. I had to sit there for an hour trying to prove that the guy who was picking me up was actually my friend. I thought the club was okay but they have very strict guidelines. The owner has this approach that he say he has spent all this money researching and the EACH and EVERY girl must resite this speech to each and every customer. you are not allowed to work your own majic. If you were caught straying from his approach you would be fined a ridiculous amount and perhaps sent home. It was awful as far as that was concerned. I am from Atlanta and the gift of gab is your own. No one tells you what u MUST say.

I want to travel back to Chi in the coming weeks. I love the city. As a woman of color, I know that certain clubs are right for me but I will not work in any environment. I am looking for honest feedback on which clubs would or could work best for me. I am tall and shapely and the athletic type yet pretty and very feminine. What are your suggestions? Help!

As I mentioned in my previous post, Heavenly Bodies and Skybox are owned by the same people as Cowboys, so you may want to skip them. I also stated that I like Club 390 and Jimmys. Both of those clubs have a racially diverse collection of dancers.

Personally, I'm a white guy that enjoys dances from women of color. I'd be grateful if you publicly post or even PM me when you do choose a Chicago club. I'd love to meet you.

The cit of chicago lost the case. VIPs is in safe for another four years. Yes they do not want VIPs around, but we won because we abide by all thier rules. The business is not unsteady, VIPs have thier liquor license. They are not going any where, but it always some rumor going around town. If you check out VIPs you can judge for your self hun.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.
I think I will inquire about VIPs, 390, and Jimmys. I have friends there so I will see what they say and report back to you guys.

3-legged man, I will let you know...
Are 390 and Jimmys south of the loop?

390 and Jimmys are far south of the loop in the suburb of Chicago Heights. VIPs is in the city a little NW of the loop. Guess the choice is city vs suburbs.

Khadija, you would like VIP's. I am a WOC and worked there a long while ago. My best friend is still there, I believe, but so great the hustler she is only works one day a week now. Cute little blond. Anywho, if Bob, one of the best manager I had the pleasure to work with, is still there, he is the one to ask for. Money is great there if you hustle, sooo many girls work there.

As for the granny panties, I heard the story and I was laughing so hard when my best friend told about the day the managers was rushing to make all the girls change!

Thanks 3-legged man for the info.

Blasian cutie... my guy friends say that chi is the worst city to dance in. Do you agree? I know that they are probably spoiled by atlanta clubs where there is full nudity. Most guys don't pay attention to things that we do as dancers.

What is everyone's take on that remark by some guy friends?

Chicago is a bad city for strip clubs, but not a bad city to be a stripper.

Considering the size of Chicago, we don't have very many strip clubs AT ALL. There are only two in the city limits currently, and only several decent clubs scattered throughout the suburbs....some over an hour away from the city. Every club has different rules (nude/no alcohol vs. topless/alcohol vs. nude/BYOB...etc. etc....). Rules about contact vary widely from club to club as well. There is a club for everyone's taste, but really no two are even close to being similer.

Chicago doesn't have a "strip-club culture" as some call it. In places like Atlanta, parts of Florida, Texas, Arizona, and of course Vegas.....strip clubs are more visable, more accepted. People here just don't go to the stripclubs as much, and if they do, they tend to hit one of the wrong ones and not go back thinking they are all the same.

With that said, I've worked here for three years, at two different clubs. I've been a customer at almost every club in the area (I looooove stripclubs hehehe). The money in Chicago changes with the season and with events (Bears, Cubs games, concerts, bachelor parties etc. ) Some nights are dead, others are unbelievably busy. My best advice is to find the club that fits you best, stick around for awhile, and you'll make money.

^^^I with Kylie. You got to find the club that suits you. Our mayor, Daley, don't want Chicago (inner city) to be the city of Al Capone Days anymore. Meaning, he cracks down hard (for other reasons as well).

Again, I agree with Kylie, its better for the dancers' with no touching and still twenty dollars a song. As for WOC, yes, its fewer of us at every popular club in Chicago and outside the city. At least since I been there. As for your friends, esp. from ATL, well, yeah, they are going to think the clubs suck in Chicago, the clubs are not as wild or touchy-feely as ATL clubs. It can get boring, but once you find some regulars, you won't mind being bored.

The only thing I haven't seen in Chicago that I've seen elsewhere is that in-your-face, full-frontal, spread-legged nudity. Things tend to be a bit more conservative here.
SOME guys do appreciate artistic dancing and pole work, but many others do want to see the T&A and get to the grinding lapdance. As has been posted in this thread, there's a little bit of everything in the Chicago scene, from low contact and air dances, to raunchy places with extras galore. But is it spread around the area. The city clubs (VIP and Admiral) offer little or no contact with customers. There's a couple of nasty areas in Harvey and Melrose Park where high mileage can happen. There's also a concentration of medium-contact places in NW Indiana, most notably Industrial Strip.
Come give Chicago a shot. I'm sure you'll find some place to your liking here.
