    Default Mommy's with sons....question.

I won an autographed Hannah Montana t-shirt from the radio and being as I would get pointed and laughed at if I chose to sport it, I decided to give it to a friend's 10 year old daughter who is in love with HM...but I'd feel bad mailing a package containing gifts to her when she has a brother who is about 7 or 8. So I want to get him something to send too so he can have a package but I have no idea what a 7 or 8 year old boy likes. The only thing I really know about him is that he plays baseball and he is really into camo right now.

Haha...yeah. Any ideas? I don't want to send something stupid. I'm aiming for anywhere between 20-50 bucks.

Well, clothes tend to be expensive, so rule that out (except possibly a camo hat), and boys don't really care that much.

I asked my boyfriend, and the first thing he said was, "Shit, I dunno...", so don't feel so bad. How about a new baseball glove? Or a nice bat? Maybe one of those replica bats with the reprinted signatures of famous players on it. You can get them at sporting goods stores really easily.

Wait... I have it. Get him a supersoaker. Everyone loves supersoaker water guns. Get one of the really badass ones.

Get him a toy Tonka truck, or a toy tractor is he is a country boy, or a toy bulldozer or something. Maybe a remote control car or hovercraft or the like. You could get him a cap gun or better yet a BB gun so he can terrorize the neighborhood Whatever action figures look cool. And oh hells yeah on the super soaker. I could think of lots and lots of stuff for those made of snakes, snails and puppy dog tails.............

Just buy him a pack of baseball cards. He will think he got the better of the two gifts. If you want to spend 20 to 50 dollars then you can buy 10 to 20 packs and have a friend forever.

Oh yeah, if you buy him anything that says Blue's Clues or Wiggles on it Go directly to Jail. Do not pass Go, Do not collect $200.

Maybe a board game...Risk would be a good choice IMO. He may have to grow into it a little but it will keep him and his buddies occupied for hours on end.

The 8 year olds at school today were going nuts over a big bag of cheap plastic toys. Transformers are a good bet, or bugs.

tonka truck? not for an 8 yr old...maybe for a 5 yr old.

yea, my 8 yr old is way into transformers, don't know why, he's never seen the movie or anything.

he also LOVES gift cards. it's like a credit card to him. he's fascinated with the idea that the card is like money and he can buy what he wants, lol.

Or super-heroes. Any super-hero that's had a movie done lately.

Hell yes on legos. You can get a kit that builds a ship or something at the toystore for only like $10. Just get him a big one.

My seven year old lives off of the following:

Transformers, Sigma 6 GI Joes (snake eyes is the coolest I guess), Hot Wheels and Nerf dart shooter stuff.

    Can't live without them.

it's toward the higher end of the $50 but a baseball jersey is a great gift. it matches up with the HM shirt too. (<---that's a BIG TIME present right now btw!)

find out what's his favorite team or who his favorite player is or get one in that price range. some of the more popular jerseys can go twice your limit but some of the smaller market players can be had for that price.

Honestly Pooka, 7 year old boys aren't really all that hard to shop for. That's sort of the age where every cool thing on TV that lights up, goes fast, has a gun, wheels or makes noises is on their "OHMYGODMOMIHAVETO HAVE THAT!" list.

I hear it probably 100 times a day.

So if you head to a toy store (if you are going to get him a toy and not clothing) ask for the isle geared for 6 - 10 year olds. There will be lots and lots to choose from. Seriously, of all the ages with my kiddo I have experienced so far, this one is the easiest to please, because he wans everything! And all of his little friends are like that too.
