    Default Your money making philosophy

Looking for some opinions, because I know we're all different when it comes to money making. What do you do when you've had a good night, or a good week?

I was thinking this today, as I took it off because I did better than expected last night. I was also tired, etc, fighting that willpower battle, but if I've had a rocking night, the next day I feel less motivated to go in again. When perhaps, I ought to feel MORE motivated. Hmm.

BTW- this is my first attempt to poll people...sorry for any newbie muck-up

I work as much as I can, to make as much as I can.

I'm in school so that kind of makes sense being that I can only work 1-2 nights. But this is pretty much my philosophy during the summer, too. I try to work as much as I can and do my best job making money at work. If I've done these two things, I know that's all I can do, so if I have a bad night it won't really bother me--I'll just keep working that week as much as I can.

If I have some really good nights it just motivates me to work more ("how much can I make this week??!!"). I'll take off if I have a couple really bad nights (if I can, which I usually can afford to) I'll take off as well, so I can rebuild my confidence and motivation to get back and make money. I find that being away from work for a week or more makes me really eager to go in and earn money! Being in school kinda sucks sometimes because I want to work more! I like the challenge.

I tried more organized methods (goals, recording everything, etc.) but it doesn't work for me. I'm an all or nothing kind of girl!

I voted for working as much as I can, to make as much as I can.

I expect myself to do this, but if I were to have a really good night I would use it to justify a day off, as long as the day off wasn't a weekend.

so kind of a mix between the 1st and 2nd options

I wish I was the goal or the schedule one, but I am the sporadic stripper. I make very good money, so I don't come in that often because I get complacent. My goal is 1500-2000 per week, but I end up more like 1000 or so per week. Not good! Bad girl!

I think I'm a mix of the first and fourth options. I come in from out of town to work, so I guess that's a schedule. However, while I'm in town to work I work all that I can as much as I can. Meaning I come in early and leave at dawn and sometimes later.

If I have a really good night, I always go back the next night, because usually I'll have another good night and hopefully a streak of them.

When I didn't come from out of town I did work on a schedule regardless of earnings.

My philosophy changes...right now, as you know, I'm in a heavy 'lazy stripper' mode, whereby I work enough to reach my (modest) $$ goals, no more. The goals I set include money for savings and investments, so it's not exactly subsistence stripping, but I'm definitely not maximizing the $$ possibilities. Nor do I want to...I've got other shit to do.

I have been robo-stripper-like in the past, but it's not good for my psyche. I still do it in weekly bits though, like when I go to TBay.

I'm with Dangerous Diva: currently a mix of #1 and #4. I voted for #1 because I work as much as I can, even though I schedule it around my two other businesses.

At some point in my career, I have been all four. Within the past year I recently broke out of my "weekly goal" mode. I found that mentality was holding me back. Since I "thought" I could only make 2K a week... I usually only made 2K a week. Once I changed my thoughts and didn't assign a number to how much I wanted to make, I started making more money in the same amount of time.

I USUALLY work the same days every week, more if I really need the money. Earnings don't affect it except that I get laaaazzy and end up skipping shifts that I planned to work if I do really well some night.

My old club had a schedule and everyone worked at least three days a week. Now I'm at a club with no schedule and have a hard time making it in more than two. I know I should just buckle down and do it, but you know how easy it is to talk yourself out of going in, especially if you don't have to.

I need motivation! But that's another thread.

I work when I need money, but save about half my earnings. Sometimes I book a few weeks in the midwest and work six day weeks for as long as I'm booked, but other times I just work until I make $xxxx or until it's time for me to go somewhere else.

Girl! You are no worse than me.

Thanks again for the pole lessons, BTW. Your input makes me want to try my hand at dancing again. Who'da thunk that would happen?

Oh, for the record, I work when I get to that point of, "Shit! I have no buckzor$" But I've had another job for most of my stripping career. Not that it makes me a ton of money. But I stay afloat, for the most part.

I set a monthly goal and try to work a self-scheduled three days a week until I make it. If I'm feeling mentally or physically run down, I'll take a day off and do a two-day week.

I also try to stick to my schedule at the beginning of the month, that way I can take it a little easier the last week when a there will be more girls pouring into work saying "SHIT MY RENT IS DUE!!"

Same as me! I wish I had the ability to vote on issue #1 but I feel like issue #3 is more of my work style. I work and make money when I need it. *sigh* I wish I had the mental strength to make myself work more. Working an open schedule really blows for me. I have to force/motivate myself to go in...

I work a minimum of 3 days a week. Most weeks I schedule myself for 4, but have been known to work 5 days (but not in a row). If I have a really good week, I'll work 3 days the next week. Conversely, if I'm scheduled for 5 days and I don't make much $$ that week, I'll also bump my next week down to 3 days so I don't get fed up and discouraged. This time off rejuvinates me and it's what savings is for!

I'm a mixture of numbers 1, 2 and 4. I don't fit snuggly into any of those categories as I am truly a mixture of each of them.

#1 esp. when I am away from home as I did in Melbourne. I do this at home to a certain extent working 2-3 nights per week in the club and then being open for private party work friday and saturday ... I've been flat out this week with work due to it!

#2 only if I need the mental and/or physical health break.

#3 I generally have the same schedule back home here: Work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights. Work private parties Friday and Saturday.

I do something similar away from home if possible. When working in smaller town clubs that are only open Wed-Sat.. then I work Wed-Sat. I try to work as much as possible when away from home however always take Wednesday and Sundays off each week (if possible).

I am definately NOT #3 and try to stay away from that as much as possible. This is my full time business and employment. So I treat it as such. I'm not perfect, I do slip up from time to time and be lax and may fall into category 3 however overall I honestly feel I'm a mixture of the others.

I am in lazy stripper mode...I just don't have the energy that I did when I was twenty..but I try......sometimes listening to yourself and making sacrifices for your well being is more important than money...but at the same time I think there is room for me to push myself a little more to be consistant with work. I've been taking alot of time off lately...but it is actually my new years resolution to work at least three days a week...even though I start school again in January I am going to resist the temptation to take "personal" days...

When I am good though I work three days in a row and if I don't meet my weekly goal I will pick up a weekend shift.

I"m a mixture I think. In my club we hand in a monthly rota which you've gotta stick too. If you hand in for a shift which you can't work you have to get it covered or be fined. I tend to hand in to work between 3-4 shifts p/w (4 at the mo as am saving for BA!) and I stick to it pretty ridgidly. Sometime I under book shifts as its easier to sign on for extra shifts through the month than it is to cancel so if I'm feeling full of energy and money hungry, I'll work all that I can regaurdless of how much I make each night. On the other hand, I intended to work last night although I wasn't booked on but when I woke up my throat was sore and I felt kinda shitty so I thought I deserved a rest for one night. I take things as they come I guess depending on my mood. Working for money as you nedd it is never a good idea though as I tend to find the nghts I really need the cash are the nights I go home broke.
