    Default Optimistic or Pessimistic?

I haven't posted a poll in awhile so.....

Who sees the cup half empty and who sees it half full??
I am definitely a pessimistic. I always see the bad side of things before the good. I hate being that way but I'm too old to change my ways!

I try to see the good in everything but to be realistic I tend to plan for the worst and hope for the best. That being said I still consider myself an optimist. I'm just prepared and grateful when things go my way and if they don't I have a contingency plan.

I always see the cup as half full. I am a 99% optimist. This way of living (thinking) leads me to be more healthy and happy. I always see the brighter side of anything dark. No matter the outcome, i get positive thoughts right away to remain an optimist

I get sick (heart condition) and still see myself as if i die, i will be as if i'm asleep and know nothing.

Reading many many books about extreme optimists have helped me alot!

I think I am a happy medium. Maybe you could call that a realist. Sometimes I could go to pessimistic, sometimes optimistic. It really depends on the day. I like to try to be in the middle. Add that to taking one day at a time, and I'm OK!

Luck is simply the combination of opportunity and preparedness. So you'd obviously be prepared for any opportunity that comes along.
Guy #1: I'd totally hit that.
Guy #2: Dude, I'd hit that so hard whoever could pull me out would become the King of England.

This is so true for me too. The positive reinforcement is cyclical. Sure, bad things happen to everyone, but your perception of it is so vital, because it deeply affects your reaction, as well as future motivation. And double yes on the reading. One of my favorites was 'Toxic Parents.' Really applied to all walks of life beyond intra-familiar.

    ETA: optimist

i'm realistic about stuff. i guess mostly pessimistic, but at least if i expect the worst i wont be dissapointed, as those that always expect the best might be.

Definately a happy medium, I try to be optimistic but I tend to look at things from a more realistic point of view.

I'm usually optimistic bordering on naivete, lol. Sometimes I dwell and obsess about stuff but the majority of my life I'm just blithely breezing through and expecting sunshine and puppies.
