Default I think I'm a highly electrical person

Seriously, I get shocked ALL THE TIME. When I exit my car and go to shut the door: zap. When I touch a house doorknob: zap. Touch a light switch: zap. Touch another person: zap (I've even seen sparks before in the dark) It's gotten to the point where I avoid plugging/unplugging appliances because I know I'll see blue sparks (I can even hear the "pop") This happens at my house, friends' houses, almost everywhere and I'd estimate I get shocked a good 70% of the time. What the hell is going on? Does this happen to anybody else? (my friends think I'm trippin') This can't be normal.

It used to happen to me all the time when I was in college. Found out that it was because 1) I apparently shuffled my feet a lot, especially on the dry dorm carpeting and 2) it was a very dry (no humidity) environment.

This page has info on reducing static electricity.

Maybe you always have an imbalance of + and - charges? Try rubbing some dryer sheets.

^LJ that link does not work can you fix it?

TM I do think I have something weird going on with my body because this has been going on since childhood.

And could static electricity explain getting shocked when I get out of my car? It's so WEIRD. Does anybody else get shocked when they get out of their car? It's not just my car, it's other cars too. Not all the time, but often.

The type of clothes you wear matters. Shuffling your feet can add to it. Try using an anti-static fabric softener (yes, they really work, although don't expect miracles).

Yes happens a few times a week. Sometimes when its dark out I can see the spark from my finger tip to my car. They do have anti-static stuff for cars.

I don't think its odd that you are charged all the time unless its effecting your insides. hehe try melting stuff with your charge jk

But I'm not a shuffler, I swear! So what do you guys mean by using an anti-static softener? I already use softener in the wash, should I rub dryer sheets on myself? lol

Most any of the softeners should do it. In part they soften, but they also leave a thin coating on the fabric that decreases static because the clothing materials don't come in direct contact with each other, but like I said, don't expect miracles. Some clothes are worse then others. Also if you have dry skiin rubbing against your clothes (try a moisturizer if so). Many people have drier skin in the winter, and so get shocked more this time of year.

YES. All of the time. I often 'hit' my car with my arm before I touch it with my hand because I always get shocked.

Also wanted to mention that you should always touch your car before you touch the gas pump/pump your gas.

Oh! I am so like this! I'm always zapping my kiddo and cats and my hubby, my car, door knobs, everything!

It goes even farther, I can't wear watches, they stop working on me in about a month or two.

Cell phones, I've never had a cell phone that didn't start acting funny after a couple of months. Never.

And same as you, I'm not a foot shuffler, most of my house it tile, so it's not a carpet thing. It's so odd!

I used to be like that. I even had vibrators start shooting sparks. But then I started making sure I wasn't unpolarised all the time and now I hardly ever get shocked.
