    Lightbulb Stripper E-Mail

    Hi ladies,

I have question regarding "Safe" Dancer etiquette.

I have searched all over the internet for tips and info on the safety measures dancers should take. Like NOT giving your real name....Or Never having important personal information floating around the club.

I also see a lot of tips explaining that you should have like a caller voice mail or a dancer email account set up, just so you can give to your regulars or whatever so'd not to use your own personal info and also to use to keep your client base up to par.

    So my Question(s) is this:

Where are some good email sites to make up a dancer E-Mail account just for such purposes? Is there like an email client that most prefer to use?

Also do most of you do the Voice mail thing?

    Thank you.

I ask customers to communicate with me via myspace--that's how I've done it for 2+ years and I've had no issues. Myspace is great because you can post photos too, which is an added bonus for your customers as well as a conversation topic.

um, hotmail works just fine for me. I have separate school, personal, craigslist, other forum, AND work emails on hotmail. Probably switch over to gmail soon.

But no, there's not a way to get [email protected]

(at least not yet) cause I would get that one in a hot second!

I also hand out my myspace but I have it closed to non friends so they have to join in order to view my page.

I am too afraid that they will somehow turn out to be this crazy hacker who can track my IP address and come kill me.
    Yeah I am paranoid.
Also, my myspace would not work as it is clear that I have a boyfriend-husband-significant-other-lover-type-person, which would not be good for business.

Actually lickmyfeetbitchandpayme.com is still available (I just checked), so if you're really into it, go to GoDaddy (or whatever other one) and grab it... it'll cost you about $10/year to have it forwarded :-).

Regarding Hotmail, be a little careful: it records the IP that you sent from... not necessarily a big deal, but it could identify you to a stalker. Depending on how you access the 'net, it could let on what neighbourhood you live in. Worse yet, if you log in from all sorts of places, it could let a stalker track you down.

Look at the full headers of a Hotmail-sent message (I don't know how to do this in Hotmail, but it's pretty obvious in other email clients). You'll see a line that looks like X-Originating-IP: followed by a number in the form 111.222.333.444. Cut and paste this number into www.arin.net "Search WHOIS" and you'll find out more info than you'd always want people to have about you.

    /c

Uhm...so, I have little website that's kind of growing and stuff, and when you join (free) you get an e-mail account. It'd be [email protected] so it's untrace-able.

just wanted to let you know.

    www.another.com

It's not free (used to be though). And it's being re-vamped at the moment, so not a lot to see.
You can choose the bits that go before and after the @
When I had an account you could have 20 addresses to one inbox. and they had about 20,000 choices for the domain

By the way, just to clarify my previous comments: this IP address revealing happens when you send through Hotmail - just giving your Hotmail address wouldn't allow anyone not connected to Hotmail to figure these things out.

Likewise, if you register your own domain, make sure that you don't have identifiable information in there that points to yourself... that could be bad.

I just use yahoo. I made up a name when they asked for it so when it says my name on messenger and when I send emails it's fake. I also use myspace for certian people, ususally only the ppl that are members of my fan club (cam modeling) or are good buyers from me.

This is actually one of the safest ways to mail. The closest they get is to yahoo's (or hotmails or ...) MX record.

Messenger I am not sure about.

Really it is goading you out of information that says more. What concert did you just go to? Well, look at the tour schedule and they know what geographical area you are in. Local news event? Same thing.

I thought the ip thing could tell where you went online.... like, if you always log on at starbucks, then somone could asily go there and wait for you to show up.....

I have three email addresses, one personal, one business and two myspace pages, again on personal, one business. I've never had a problem keeping them seperate.

    Me too.

IP addresses don't really lead stalkers to your front door. Might be possible for a very savvy techie, but really only reveals what internet service provider you have.

I use myspace mainly followed by email accounts linked with my website address.

It shows even more professionalism if you use an email address linked with your own personal website or web page IMO.

If you are worried about IP addresses you can get something that hides your IP address and gives them one that's in another country...

I like that SW has that, I just don't know that I would want very many of my custies to know about SW.

    It's kind of my spot.

I always wait a super long time before giving out contact info. I used to give out my number but I got really sick and tired of them calling when I was with my boyfriend. It was so hard to transition into work mode and then back to boyfriend mode so fast.
So I made a work email on gmail. It worked really, really well, and I still use it a lot. My computer uses a dynamic IP address, so I'm not super worried, but I also used a fake first name (my stripper name) and a fake last name as the info. No where on the sign up did I put in real info.
After a while the work email wasn't enough (actually I just got tired of getting to work and wanting to call and not being able to) so I have a seperate phone number for work. Not worried about any one finding out about that one because my really super reliable super amazing (i.e. trustworthy) custie pays for it. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot he doesn't know about me, but he pays for my work phone so my name isn't anywhere on it!
I don't know, it works for me...
