Default SO...just got confirmation on funding for my BA. Advice?

After waiting ELEVEN YEARS, I'm finally going to get them.
The money is coming out of my investments, so no loan, thank goodness.
Need to schedule a consult, I've already got my doc picked out, but I think I'm going to have to wait until after the holidays for it..just crazy now, with my son's birthday two days before Christmas, and all the shopping I need to do.

Def. going under, or that new thing I heard about where it's half-and-half (no idea what that's called, it's slipped my mind atm).

I have to admit to being nervous about being under anesthesia and all that entails, because the ONLY time I've been in a hospital since I was born was when I had my son! Seriously!

I'm 5'9" and around 155 with a very large chest cavity, so I'm already a C and probably going to have to go up to at least a large D if not more.

But I figure since I've danced so long without, it's time for mamma to have some new boobies, dammit. I'm already 34. Sheesh.

    Scared but excited....

Advice for what I need to be expecting, to stock up on, etc. would be welcomed.

When you wake up its freaky to look in the mirror and see how different your body is. They're all swollen and sometimes lopsided- you know these things are normal but its still strange. In a few weeks the swelling will go down and you'll be back to normal. Just talk to your friends and watch movies to keep your mind occupied.

Congratulations on finally achieving your goal. BA's have been a common procedure for several decades now, so the procedure is fairly refined. In other words, your boobs are going to turn out great.

Some doctors keep a real anesthesiologist in the room to monitor you during surgery. My doc did. Be sure to check the credentials of the person who will be putting you under. Lots of ladies just think of the boobs and boob doctor, forgetting this part. If the worst should happen, its the anesthesiologist who could kill you, not the boob doc! Do your research, ask about the facilities where the surgery will be performed, if its in an office(bad news), or a hospital(great!) or a surgery center near a hospital-- just in case.

Once you know all the details, and that your safety is 100% accounted for, you can rest easy. You have plenty of time to research this info, so no stress! When the day comes you will be informed and ready.

Thanks Zabrina...the anesthesia IS what I am most nervous about. I don't have any allergies or reactions that I KNOW of, but since I've never been under, well....
Can they test for that beforehand?
I'm not allergic whatever IV pain meds they gave me in the hospital for my labor, and I'm not allergic to penicillin, but other than that I dunno.

I know this guy has been in business for close on 40 years now, so I think he's pretty safe. He was orig. from Miami, but moved up here in the early 90s.

    I will do my research..thanks!

Make sure the anesthesiologist is board certified and in the operating room during your surgery.
Does the doc you're interested in have a surgery suite or does he work off-site?

Honestly, I don't remember..I had a consult years ago to see what kind of pricing I was looking at, and I'm sure he told me then. I think he does it on-site, but he is very close to Wake Forest University Baptist Med Center, which is one of the best in the state, if not the east coast.
I've seen a couple girls with his work (which is why I want him in the first place...BEAUTIFUL stuff!!) and they were very comfortable with their experience.
Don't worry, I am taking all of your advice to heart and making a list of q's to ask when I go.
Thanks..anything else you think of, no matter how little, let me know. Bags of frozen peas, for example...etc.

I think the half and half is for ladies who are getting a large amount of CC's, but I'm not a doctor so who knows!

Anyway, congrats! As long as the doc has a good rep, and the fact u have seen his work you have nothing to worry about? are yo going thru the nipple?
