Default Xmas gift ideas for bf?

Okay im having major issues in what to buy my bf for xmas.
He has booked a weekend away for us end of january and all i know is that i will need my passport, he wont say where or anything,BUT he says that that is the second part of my present!
So i want to get him something nice but obviously next to his gifts for me i will feel a little cheap lol
I keep asking him what he wants and he keeps sayin "you wrapped in a big red bow" so that doesnt help at all lol
He doesnt wear jewelry or anything either, why are guys so difficult?

I have no help but I wanted to let you know I'm in the same boat. K just buys himself whatever he wants and I have no idea what to get him. I don't know why they have to be so damn maddening.

does he like computer games or video games? Or does he do anything special for his computer, like mess around with photo software or imaging software? If so, you could buy him something like a nice photo software, then when you get back from your vacation with all those pictures you have a romantic evening playing with them...

It's cheesy but I SO wanted to get professional sexy-pics of myself, so I am doing that and giving some to the boy. He doesn't want/need anything either.

That's actually what i'm doing. Me and a girlfriend are doing to together and then we're going to have them made into calendars. A friend of her's from college is a prof. photgrapher and she's going to take the pics for us. I'm going to go through all the months and mark holidays, special occasions, birthdays and such, so he'll always remember. He's really bad about remembering dates.

If he has all of these, a Leatherman is still a very good choice, and they come in multiple sizes.

There's always another Leatherman he can use. I have a Micra in my car armrest, and a Core in my carry bag. I'd like to get one of the Skeletool models.

Leathermans for men are like shoes for women; you can never have too many Leathermans.

Girls, if you want to know one of the reasons we're so hesitant to have you buy us gadgets, its the same reasons you're hesitant to have us buy you clothes. There's a decent chance that the outcome is going to result in another trip to the store on December 26 to exchange it for something more to our liking.

I'm in agreement with the fellas here that a gadget like a Leatherman is a safe choice. As much as some of us lose tools, we can always use a spare. Other than that, the key to a nice gift is knowing his hobbies. A nice sweater, jacket, or replica jersey of his favorite team is always a winner. Problem there is that is his favorite team isn't the local one, it may require online shopping.

If you're totally resigned on this, a big money gift card to one of his favorite stores will suffice. I know a lot of people find that buying a gift card is tacky, particularly for a relative or an SO, but if you can put that notion aside, you really have to consider the advantages they give. I'd be perfectly happy if I got nothing but gift cards.

What do y'all think of the iPhone? I was thinking of getting one for K because he loves that sort of thing, but I know some people are holding off on buying the current iPhone and would rather wait for the next version. Would it be worth getting him an iPhone at this point?

I suggest the N810 Internet Tablet from Nokia.

It is a capable internet browser with a high resolution screen. A cool added feature is that it has built-in GPS so you can map your location. And really cool applications are being developed for it all the time since it uses the open source Linux operating system. And it can be used for games. And has a Skype application so that you can make free internet phone calls. And oodles of other stuff.

There is so much more to this device for the geek hearted. For instance, it can be configured to read the data off you the computer chip in your car! Or for the sleuth minded, the device can be set up, with the aid of software we won't talk about, to read cetain data off cell phones of people as they passby. And one could try cracking Wifi systems too.

Anyway, the device is rather neat but it is also pretty small.

The internet browsing capability means you must connect via a WiFi connection which is still a coming thing. It is not cheap. The device will set you back $500 US.

I happily used a predecessor, the N800, for several months. It's not a device for everybody but to some it is uber-fine.

A watch? That's so retro. Watch sales are way off. It's mostly the older people who wear them now.

Look at something he likes, his car, his bike, his computer, his guns, his camera, his weight set, and think of accessories. Floor mats, steering wheel grip, redone wheels? Throttle lock, emergency air pump, new seat? New laptop, upgrade, wireless or backup gizmos? New shooting glove and precision glasses or a scope? New lens, case, card, software? New grips, weights, barbells?

I've actually helped a couple ladies out on doing a picture spread of them for their boyfriend/fiance. It seemed to be a big hit. But don't tell anyone. I was a "female photographer" as far as their guys were concerned.

PS: I'd ask before getting an iPhone. Personally, I wouldn't keep it.

    ^^wow that's pretty good!

but it would be especially great if it was all that plus regular tv! (where i got my dvr so i can record shit and ff thru commercials)

that will prob be a reality considering ALL tv's are going digital at the end of '09 or something very soon.

hmmm i dunno about the iphone yet--it seems like it hasn't even been out a year! lol remember when ipods looked like boxy 80's cars? (jk)

i def say make an extravagant sex evening, or rent a hotel room with a jacuzzi (get some spidey bubble bath or some silly shit if he's into that lol) and just an assortment of fun cheaper things to open up like books, movies, cd's, weird candy from one of those "ethnic market" type places

Ok so dorking but I am getting my borfriend a Toy fighting Helicopeter. You get them at a hobby store. It is 2 helicopters that you can fly, they have lasers on them and when you shoot the other one with the laser it dies and hits the gorund. They go up like 3 stories! I know he will like it because he was playing with one at a friends house. It was actually fun. Oh and he is like 30!!

    Very very true.
I have discovered that I should never ever buy my boyfriend any gadgets, but instead, a gift card to Bestbuy. Not romantic, but he fuckign loooves going there alone, browsing for what seems like housrs, playing with everything, and then picking out what he wants. Ever time I try to buy him something, I never ever do t right. Last year I bought him a flatscreen monitor for his computer. I went to several different stores, talked to all the sales associates, and thought I picked the right one. Not so. He returned it for a different flat screen.

I honestly think the best gift for a man is a threesome. Or a really fucking awesome blowjob. That's what my dude is getting. a blowjob. an extra special one, the kind he only gets on very ver rare, special occasions. The kind of blow job that will make him hard for the rest of the year just hinkin bout it.
