"It's said in Hollywood that you should always forgive your enemies - because you never know when you'll have to work with them."
- Lana Turner
I'm facing the predicament of supervising a program that requires me to work with somebody who's never had my best interest at heart. In order to accept the position, I consciously decided to forgive them and move forward in the best interest of the agency and its clients. However, it's occasionally tempting for me to exclaim, "I peep game, you smug, slimy motherfucker!"![]()
I realize that anger has a way of giving control to the person that angers you but, damn, I'd like to be the "lesser" person for two minutes and verbally blast the manipulative, dishonest, inconsiderate wart on the ass of humanity. Ironically, I'm entrusted with modeling problem solving and conflict resolution for the staff members and clients here. OTOH, if we both worked at a strip club, I guess I would just ignore this waste of DNA (damn, shoulda been born a hot female)...![]()
So, I've pacified myself with Lana Turner's^^^ quote and the knowledge that assholism (assholishness? assholeneity?) is not an affront to be taken personally. No, certain people just ARE...![]()
