    Default question about bra sizes

    If someone was say a 32b is the b the size of the breasts and the 32 the size of their body? Or would a 34b have bigger breasts than a 32b? Im confused. I have never really understood bra sizes.

    The number is the band size, ie the measurement around the ribcage under the breasts.

    You should still be a 32, but I don't know from my own experience. When I worked at Victoria's Secret, though, I had to measure girls for bras all day. A lot of them had just come in from getting BAs and when I measured them and gave them their new results, they said that their band size had stayed the same, but their cup size had increased, of course.

    Yeah, when I gained weight I went from a B to a D...but 34B to 34D. Band size stayed the same.

    Hmm, I read differently. They said that the breasts are ever so slightly bigger between band sizes (so a 38D is bigger than a 34D).

    Then again, I was a 34B in high school, and then I grew to a 34D because I dunno. Hormones. I wore a 36C for a while, but I found it didn't quite fit as well as the 34D. I didn't think my boobs seemed big enough for a D, but you have to go how the bra fits. Maybe it's true that the band side stays the same.

    Don't forget, bra sizes among mfgs. can vary greatly too. *Is jealous of their bewbies growin'. Catalogs sizes are know to be larger (in everything). I don't know the brand name, but I think a few have 'almost' or in-between cup sizes.

    You're right...essentially:

    38A=36B=34C=32D, so a 32D is smaller than a 36D.

    But, if you get a BA, your band size *should* stay the same.

    My band size went up with the BA. Not that my ribcage increased, but my big ol boobs were too wide for a 34DD cup. The 36D or DD's fit better because the width of the implant fit with the wider underwire better.

    But who knows, I've never been properly measured so I could be doing everything wrong. I just try 'em all on and buy whats comfortable.

    And that's all that matters, but it wouldn't hurt to go get measured.

    The volume of the cup of a 38C will be larger than a 32C but the projection of the cup should be the same. The cup size refers to the difference between the rib cage and the measurement around the fullest part of the breast.
