Default Who has done "Stripper" competitions?

I don't know if you gals in the US or elsewhere have these, but in Canada we have Miss Nude...(Blah, blah, blah).

I am doing my FIRST ever type competition for Miss Nude Canada and I am a bit nervous as all the other girls have done this before, I am afriad I'll suck in comparision. But what I am wondering, is for the week I am to be at this club, where do we make money? Are we to hustle at all when we are not on stage being judged on our preformance? Like sell posters, promo...whatever.

I just don't want to spend that week doing this and not make any money to boot. I know the prizes are nice, but that's if you win.

Any input/guidance girls? What should I expext?

*Note, I am doing this for the sheer fun and experience and while I hope for a lil recognition, I won't hold my breathe

the only thing ive done like that is a stupid bikini contest at a bar. I was working at the club and a bar down the street needed contestants so she told us to get in street clothes/ shoes and come in.

it was degrading and ill never do it again

Anyone has done any number of stripper competitions will tell you: there is no money to be made actually doing them. It will COST you money to do them.

Basically, you won't have time to do any promo or anything. You do your show, you wait for the other shows, wait for the results.

It's seriously only worth doing for those who are making a career out of it and want to be a feature or at least a more full time showgirl as you will require titles etc. Otherwise, don't bother or only do it for the experience.

Cally is the person here to speak to about this, as she has entered the competition in the past and will be doing it again, I believe

I've competed in Miss Nude Australia and whilst the competitions are connected, they're not exactly the same so I can't really tell you what to expect. My home club holds the national final, and when we are competing we are allowed to hustle and sell lap dances etc when we are not performing, but most girls just sit around and watch.

    I will send Cally your way;

The lack of money for a week of intense work is why I've never considered MNC. MNBC is paid just like regular shows, so it's at least sorta worth it. I do believe I was told I could sell dances between comp shows if I entered, so yeah. The possibility exists of breaking even.

MNC is at Whiskey a go go (Vaughn/TO) this year.

I took part in a competition that just my club puts on once a year. It's called "Battle of the Cheetah Girls". I'll tell ya, I had a really fun time doing it but it cost me A LOT of money and I didn't get a return on investment. I spent a lot of money between props, costume, and most of all the choreography for the dance routine part of it. I'd say, do it if you just want to do it to say you took part in it, or do it if you want to have a lot of fun or do it if you're trying to become a feature dancer but don't go into it hoping you'll break even or make more. Trust me, if I had even thought of that, I wouldn't have been as disappointed as I was. I still had a great time and am glad I did it but won't do it again because it cost me a lot of money, money that I could've put to good use somewhere else.

Since I was number 8 out of 9 I didn't hustle the floor until the competition was over. The club did 3 song sets in between each feature to set up to tear down the props from the previous girl and set up the props for the next girl. During that time the girls that weren't stage dancing or working the in show were able to hustle the floor and the girls that went early in the show had the option to stay and work or they could go home.

    Good luck in it!

I participated in Nudes-a-Poppin' a few times, it was fun, but it's pretty well known that the contest is rigged most years. They hold it on a Sunday, so it's not like you miss work or anything. And you don't make any money unless you win. But it is fun to run around naked all day in the sun. That's why I did it.

    Sinder...you are doing the Canada's???

Might see you there. They are developing a new segment this year..pole competition...and I am in on that one...so if all goes well I will be there.

A few of my students are entering this year...so I may even go as a roadie for my girls...they they can pay for my flight instead of pay me!

Not alot of money to be made....It is a Whiskey in Toronto this year.

You can work...day...but you will need that time to prep. Off time is your time...you can work the floor or not..entirely up to you!

Damn woman...I know all the entrants...but I dont know your stage name..so I cant tell which is you!!

Thanks gals....I think I just may call Chris Lansdale and tell him to take my name out...

The experience would be nice, but I need to be able to make money while I am there. I have a place to stay down there, so it not like I would need a hotel.

As far as props go, I really don't have anything really expensive or huge and showy like everyone else will. I don't know why I would have ever thought I could remotely hold my own. Yep...having second thoughts now....think I'm gonna cry...

Well don't feel bad! There is nothing glamorous about Concord Ont. !! That club is in the middle of nowhere (its like $80 cabride from downtown!!)and you would spend the week in taxis wasting the money you didn't make.

Comps and featuring are closely related, get the titles to be a feature, but that is a HUGE investment and commitment. You can't just wonder into that. Maybe you should try to catch a competition locally before you travel to participate in one, and shell out so much money?

Plus that it a licensed club (I think?), if I'm right you would have to buy a Vaughan license just to work.

So far, not much money has been invested at all. I already have my best friends place to stay at while I am there, and we both have our own vehicles.

Secondly, there aren't any competitions near me. This is the closest I'll get. As far as license goes, nothing was mentioned about needing one.

So you are still tossing around the idea of participating?

In that case, maybe you can see about borrowing a costume rather than buying one?

PS I heard all these contests are rigged?

I think I'm gonna pass on it.

I can see it being rigged to some degree, and it makes me mad to think that there is no longer any fair competitions anymore.
I have costumes...I always wear costumes to my club. Thats how I stand out! Oh well....I had everything ready, what to wear for my show, mapped out what I was goiong to do to entertain...even had my music set to go....and had posters made, but those didn't cost hardly anything for me.

I'm pretty sure MNC is not rigged.

I think there's always an element of what could be called rigging, but overall I think it's usually pretty fair.

I saw one Miss Nude contest in Canada....trust me, don't go. You waste a bunch of money to entertain drooling men who won't spend money on you. That and from what I saw the judging seemed very sketchy....I was completely disappointed and yet so happy I didn't enter.

Well....the whole point to Miss Nude Canada is for showgirls and features to compete for titles and try to catch the eye of the booking agents and bar owners. They expect and plan to take a financial hit to compete because the "profit" (meaning titles and exposure) is worth it to them. Miss Nude pageants aren't intended for tabledancers who aren't wanting to invest in featuring and stage work. The MNC participants use their titles to boost their showprices and work their way up the ladder.

So, sorry to say it, but unless you're willing to sink the money and commitment into something like this AND have the talent and drive to make it work entering MNC would really be a wasted week for you.

Wow...and this is the reason why there are less and less contests that pay "real" money.....

as well as less and less features around.

    Features start somewhere...

    1st off..

MNC 2000/01, a rookie dancer less than 8 months.
    MNC 2002/03, a 2 year feature
MNC 2004/05..started from a Oil Wrestler...had been dancing a year, maybe. I brought her into the business.
MNC 2005/06..started as a house girl.
    MNC 2006/07..NOT EVEN CANADIAN!!

where do you get the "YOU NEED TO BE A FEATURE TO DO THIS?"

What happened to experience for those who may possibly wish to feature.

    1st place pays $2000

There are over $10,000 in prize money and trips. Also GUARANTEED bookings.

There are also other titles to win...

    MNC Au Natural.
    MNC Businessmans Choice
.....the list goes on....great accreditation for girls...

    also new...Pole Dance Champion....

You dont need to be a feature to compete...it can make you into one.

I think everyone was just pointing out that winning a MNC title isn't going to help you sell more lapdances, hence the whole "it's not worth it unless you want to feature" thing. It IS kind of a wasted week unless you're doing it to get into featuring or showgirl work.
