whatcha getting???

At first I was thinking "Kohl's is open at this hour?" and then I remembered it's Black Friday. You're crazy-I stay far away from stores on this day!![]()
I wanna know what you're getting too!
Good luck! I'm off to Michael's, Best Buy, Circuit City, Sears, and Macy's... then back to bed for a nap by noon!![]()
Ah, I remember doing the early bird shopping, but mom dragged m e around for day after Christmas sales![]()

Ehh I think I'm going to hit Circuit City, and thats pretty much it......other wise its G"Gift Cards all-around"

*ugh* what a waste! This was actually all my daughter's idea. She got sucked in by the commercials she saw on tv and decided we should go out shopping before the crack of dawn. Sweet little thing set her alarm for 3:00am, bless her heart. So we get to Kohl's shortly after 4 and it was MOBBED, omg it was mobbed. We got there right after the store opened and there was already a check out line wrapped around to the back of the store.Witnessed a squabble between customers who were accusing other customers of cutting in line. So we kinda wandered around aimlessly for a few minutes before I said screw this. Let's go to Target, dd says. Thinking that it opened at 5, we went to target and hung out in the car for 40 minutes waiting for it to open (it was cold) So we get in line at 5 only to find out that damn place didn't open until 6!
I was tired and cranky so we came home and I promptly crashed out till 10. Then we headed back down to start over again.
I didn't get anything, but dd got a few things. Personally, I prefer doing my shopping online. If anything, it was an experience since it was a first for both of us.
What did you guys get?
I stay away from Black Friday sales JUST for that reason!!! Last year we went to the mall at midnight (they opened way early) after getting drunk at the bar lol, and it was still unbearable. We couldn't buy what we wanted cuz the lines were not even moving, there was a fight/shooting in the mall, and I swore I'd never go shopping on Black Friday again.
I believe you Dottie and you have my support

I worked black friday at macys when I was younger. I vowed to never go out to black friday ever. People were so pushy and yelled at me because the line wasn't moving as fast as they wanted. They sure picked one helluva day to shop on.

^^^^
I had 1 item, a gps device and told me to go in one line, that only had 1 registrar. Bastids...I asked the kids working what was going on, and joked with them that if they wanted I would yell at their manager for them as well. it fot a couple smiles out of the workers, cuz you know they are just there to work, and don't have any imput on anything.
I ended up 2 hours in line for 1 item
I did the Black Friday shopping today. There was a coat for Adrian that I wanted to get and it was a "special" sale...so I got up at 4am and treked out to Old Navy. Circuit City had about 300 people standing in line and some of those people were there since 1am!!
Crazy, people, I tell ya!
And the worst part of all of this...is that there weren't really any "good" sales. Some things were on sale, but most of the stuff was regular price and you could get it at any time. The whole "Oh, but it'll be gone" mentality is sad. So, you might not get it this week, but they re-stock everything and since it's full price anyways, you're not missing anything!!
Shit, I'm going back to doing my shopping during the week after Christmas where you get everything for cheaper.![]()

VG, online shopping is soo so much easier....I only go out for either a good sale, or something that I cannot get online.
I did the Black Friday thing this morning. I did feel like a crazy person! I went to Kohl's at 4 AM today and that was a waste of time. Nothing really that I liked and no great sales. Macy's had great sales though, and I got a lot of stuff there then went to Victoria's Secret. Came back home and crashed out for another few hours. My boyfriend couldn't believe that I actually woke up that early with all the other crazy people!

^word. Kohls was a complete waste of time. They didn't really have anything good and there wasn't any type of worthwhile sale going on. I don't know what the hell all those people were buying...10 packs of washcloths for $2.50 maybe?Anyhow, Penney's was better, much of their stuff was slashed up to 60% off. THAT's the kind of sale one anticipates for Black Friday.
But I really prefer to shop online, especially during the holidays. You can find better prices usually and don't have to worry about driving, parking, throngs of dickheads etc. I just went out because baby girl wanted to go. I guess we had a mother/daughter Black Friday bonding moment this morning.![]()
I went to the post office today. It was so quiet and peaceful. You could hear a pin drop. The postal clerk even gave me a chocolate bar, ostensibly because I am great. I wish I could do all my post office business on Black Friday. It was wonderful.
Drought was over. Where was I? Drinks were on the house.
For mixers, my love, you'd poured--what?--even the rain.
When I first saw that I was thinking are you crazy?! Wonder if there were any shootings at WalMart today...
Was supposed to go with soon to be MIL today to get a dress for the nuptials but was really really sick when I got up and we didnt go. Black Friday is the worst.
Im a - buy everything Dec 23rd/24th type person. I said this to MIL yesterday and she said - youve got the right guy then! hehe... last minute people.
I dunno, we made out like bandits today. There was a line at Best Buy to get in, but it was gone by 6 am (they opened at 5, where we waited on line for all of 10 mins to get in), and they had every register open so we were only waiting for 2 minutes or so. There was no line at Michael's, so we got out of there pretty quick, then hit two mall and were still home at 11.

So did any of you ladies have to use your pepper spray on some thug forty-some suburban soccer mom trying to steal stuff from your cart this morning ? (Her kids are more important than your life, you know). Or risk getting ran over in the parking lot? Or nearly got crushed to death as your store of choice opened its doors?

Former SCJ now in rehab.

I wanted a new laptop (and a few other things on cheapo sale) I saw at Office Depot, but then I found one I want online and decided to skip Psycho Shopping today.
You have to be like the first 1-2 people in line to get those really good computer deals, and I've seen people lined up at 6pm Thursday for a store that opens at 6am Friday. I was gonna do it and camp out til I found that other laptop online. Other stuff I wanted wasn't worth lining up for.
Ehh.

I went to the mall at 4 am and it was perfect, by then the crowds had all cleared out. Of course by this time I had already spent 4 hours in Park City at the outlets for their Midnight Madness sale and that place was packed! By the time I made it back down to the valley I was so exhausted, but I had a blast, got some great deals and worked off Thanksgiving!

It's Buy Nothing Day today.![]()

huh. i went canyon riding. if i want to find deals i'll go on the interwebs. that many people in line just piss me off.![]()
