    Fucking craiglist.
Even cocktial jobs for bars they request a photo. I send my resume but no photo, and get an email back saying we require a photo for concideration. I wrote back with this is an illegal practice to discriminate against canidates due to appearance. Furthermore, due to my professional modeling experience, I cannot send photo's to unknown companies to protect my copyrights. If this position is for cocktail model or similar position requiring modeling experience, I would be more than happy to provide a headshot during the interview.

    Craiglist sucks for everything.

My friend put an ad out on CL looking for an assistant, and wrote that she had to be attractive. He received TONS of photos of candidates in their bikinis before the post was flagged. He ended up hiring a girl who was part of the Tx Bikini Team. Apparently she was a solid work though, although I'd bet he fucked her eventually. That kind of thing never works out well, if its your intention in the first place.

I have to tell you that this is common practice for the better bars in NYC. You send your resume in with a professional head shot.

I think I remember hearing in school that they get around the legalities because they are hiring for a "role", kind of like an acting position as well as being a server/bartender.

^ yeah, I've had jobs like that before, but my posititon stated " cocktail model" or "model dealer"

Plus..it's craiglist, and he didn't provide a link to the bar or even state where/what the bar was. Could have been a guy collecting jack off pics for all I know.

    ^^^^eeeewww, lol! You're probably right K.

I still think it's bad practice though, even if he was legit. Most of my favorite servers were not considered "classically hot", but damn, they were fast, fun and friendly.

Craigslist scares me anyway. I heard last year that someone put an ad up there looking for me but by the time I'd found out about it, it was not there anymore. The curiosity still kills me.

^ LOL. I've searched for myself on craiglist's missed connections.

I've also had fun flagging posts lately. Espicially in the pet section.

A lot of the jobs in Germany that i have applied for online require a picture and a photograph. And they are normal jobs. Some of them prolly wanna just put a face to a resume. But i would still be careful.

How cool! Good for you. I would have never thought of that.

Also my gf found a cam site on CL BBW section she was interested in. The guy responded back with connect with me cam2cam, stand up nude front, than back. WTF? She asked if he had a website..he said yes. She would get the link once he approved her....c'mon the majority of cam sites hire anyone. They need and want that variety.

    I hate that site.

well, he wrote back and said he wasn't interested in my resume, and was quite rude.
oh well. Wouldn't wanna work for a place like that anyway.

As for the flagging pet posts..it is illegal for you to sell your pet on craiglist.
Peopel try to get around this by asking for a "rehoming fee" but it's alwyas several hundred dollar.
It's either "to ensure they go to a good home"
or to "help with accumulated vet bills"

Either way, it makes me mad. You don't have a pet and then try to sell it to pay yourself back for whatyou spent on the pet. When you getan animal you accept the financial responsibility. You can't try to make the new owner pay fpr whatever bills you aquired while owning the pet. If this were the case, I could sell my sick cat for over $2000 right now.

And to ensure it goes to a good home? How does paying $200 determine a good home for an animal? People with money mistreat their animals just as much as poor people.

Wow I didn't know it was illegal.....those posts are just so sad and pathetic. 13 year old animals, kittens, whatever--you cannot charge that much and should not be charging at all for pets like that.

^^^ I did not know this. Who would be willing to give their 13 year old dog to someone who would pay $500 for it? Am I missing something?

^ Thatwas an example I made up of the shit I read on craiglist for pet ads. Just go check out craiglist pet section in vega and you'll see what i mean.
I just found one for a lab mix, asking a $125 rehoming fee. I find it absurd that people would ask for over $100 for a mixed dog. They are just trying to sell their pets for profit.
Espicially because craiglist does not allow pet selling.

Partial list of items the advertisement for sale of which is not permitted on craigslist
Household pets of any kind including but not limited to dogs, cats, primates, cage birds, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, fish. Re-homing with small adoption fee OK

But what is concidered a small adoption fee? I concider that under $100. But I see people selling their pets for well over $200 all the time. Or they will just leave out the price but when you email them they say they want $400 or something.

They ask for $10-20 here for re-homing. I always assumed its so that people won't take free animals in order to try and re-sell them to animal testing labs. Or perhas I'm mistaken.

^ Yeah, and 10-20 or even 50 would be understandable and acceptable.

    but not hundreds.

And honestly, what's $10 gonna do to stop people from reselling them to labs, or to use them as snake food or whatever?

Proper screening of the adoptive family is much much more important than charging a fee.

When we used to have horses, and my family would have to sell oe for whatever reason, they would make the buyer sign a legal contract stating that if they ever wanted to sell the horse, my family would have first option to buy back.
That way, we were sure that either the horse would be at the good hoem forever, would come back to us, or we would know it was going to be in good hands at it's new home.

First I doubt that it ever happened, I bet he even turned her down after she told him of her fantasies, and third people should know if that is all he wanted he would have done it without ever hiring the girl, but he probably is very picky!!

    wtf? hahaha

anyhow, many professional schools are also now requiring photos to accompany the application. I'm not really sure why and I don't know how I feel about that yet. Like, does it help or does it hinder?
