Does anyone know how to find representation in a personal injury lawsuit? I'm asking for somebody who will represent an at fault driver, but all I can find is lawyers who will defend the victim, not the ones who will assist an at fault people.

Can you call a local law firm and ask them if they have someone who handles that and, if not, to recommend someone?
You would need a defense attorney. Look them up in the yellow pages.
Where are you located Brunette Goddess? I know some in SD and LA.

I think VG is right. You need a defense attorney, I don't think it matters that it's an injury claim.
Because there ain't no tits on the radio
Im in NorCal.
Thanks VG, I told R about that suggestion for MIL.

what's the situation? if it's an auto accident, the insurance company will provide for representation. if it's around the home, the homeowner's insurance co. will do the same role. and etc. for other situations.
if there's no insurance company or similar entity, then any civil liability law firm can handle the role. "will they?" is a whole other issue as there's no promise of a big monetary payout versus a "victim case".
R read that it was a good idea to hire an attorney to keep a watch over the insurance company's lawyer to make sure the best interest is kept in MIL, not themselves.
It's an auto case.
Can you pay $120 to $200 an hour for 10 to 20 hours just to have some guy "review" the work of your insurance carrier attorney? That's a lot of VIP time.

BG, since you're in the Bay Area now, KGO 810 am has a lawyer on the radio Sundays 4-7, and weekdays 12-12:45. His name is Len Tillem. He's an elder law attorney, but is willing to give advice on all sorts of topics (not all of it sound). Might be a place to start. His office is in Sonoma and he has a website here:
http://www.lentillem.com/
p.s. He's not afraid to tell you not to waste your money on a lawyer in situations where it's not going to help.
Thanks![]()
The insurance company is the one who's going to have to pay if the plaintiff wins any type of award, not her, so of course the insurance company attorney is going to do whatever he/she can to lessen the blow. Unless of course there are also criminal charges, i.e. a DWI, in which case a separate criminal defense attorney could be necessary.
