I read on another thread that this is good on zits as a toner so I applied it. But now it reeks. How long does the smell stick around? Can I get rid of it? I don't want to smell like this in public...

Hmmm not sure. But it IS stinky stuff. Maybe apply it and leave it on for a while, and before you have to go out just clean it up. Reapply when you get back.![]()
I would use it before going to sleep, and as long as you aren't bothered by the smell it should be gone by the time you wake up
since I've read that post I only use it at night and use alcohol during the day.
Be careful natalie...a dermatologist told me that alcohol was really bad for your skin. That it over dries it and is harsh on the skin.
Have any other ladies here heard this? If so I'm wondering based on the idea that rubbing alcohol is bad for your skin, is vinegar any better?
Based on my "Acne Vent" thread I have just started trying the apple cider vinegar. I agree...IT STINKS!I use it at night by itself and if I'm going to be home in the morning I use it and then just splash my face with water before I do my make up or leave the house. I've only used it for like 3 days so I don't know if it's working yet or not.

yeah, it smells awful. that's why it's best used at night. even when i wash my face, though, there seems to be a bit of a residue.
i don't think it's all that bad.
the glycerin i use as a moisturizer, though, has a bit of a sweet smell that seems to balance it out a bit. i didn't even realize that till just now. but it does.

Straight up rubbing alcohol would pretty much negate the benefits of the ACV and oils (if you're also using those).
This stuff is so much better for your skin.
