Yes, they don't have MACaddict groups & forums similar to this for nothing.

I want to go to MAC before the holidays and get a makeover and buy some makeup. I don't have any but I want some of that awesome eyeshadow and I want a lipglass or two. That'll be my treat for working my ass off, I think!

I hope you have better luck with the eyeshadow than me. I can get it to blend and spread right.![]()

ok i'm dumb....Discount?![]()

It's fun to treat yourself to Mac and do your makeup and feel pretty. They have great holiday sets now. Brush sets, pigment sets, and lipgloss, eyeshadow sets that are only available at the holidays. The brush sets are a pretty good deal. I was at the counter and the makeup artist said that they don't get discounts on them because the price is already reduced to what they pay with their employee discount if you added up the price of buying the brushes individually.
Welcome to the new addiction is right. Lol. It's easy to go to the extreme and buy more makeup than you can wear.

i hate fluidlines!!!!! hate!
i guess it's because i found smashbox's cream liner and it kicks macs ass.
but i love everything else macfor the most part.
Papillion, make sure to get Studio Fix powder and at least a few lipsticks next time! I can never wear any other powder after MAC, I'm spoiled forever.

making mental note-lipsticks and powder. check.

Corgon, Do you use the Mac eyeliner brush with Smashbox's creme liner or the Smashbox liner brush? Or does the difference between the brushes not really matter? I have heard good things about Smashbox's liner.

i use a smashbox brush.
http://www.sephora.com/browse/produc...&ci_sku=173575
it's wider and so easy to use. dab, and i DO mean dab the liner, then pat it lightly on your lid. blend and pow!
skinny liner brushes are much harder for me to use. to each thier own though.
It's a lot harder than the stuff I used to use because it's so highly pigmented. Lots and lots of rubbing and blending involved! I've found this brush is the best for them:

If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
I've never gone to a MAC counter and spent less than $100. It's such an addiction. I didn't have ANY of their stuff 6 months ago and now it's all I use. StudioFix is the best powder ever, especially for a long night of dancing. The silica in it absorbs oil and controls shine amazingly. I've found the the lipglasses stay put really well and look good either alone or over lipstick. Try stuff from the VivaGlam line since all of the proceeds go to AIDS efforts!

i use vex or motif to "blend" colors. one swipe of those colors seems to blend my color automatically.

and also: i was my mac brushes with baby wash. much cheaper than mac brush cleanser.
