    Default "Cops"

What does everyone think about this show?

I think its sorta entertaining but I have problems with it. Right now they're messing with prostitutes and earlier a female cop was saying some pretty prejudiced things about a transsexual.

I have seen one show where a Portland stripper was about to get towed and she kept begging to go back inside and do a few more lapdances to keep them from taking her car. The girl was acting a little crazy, but it certainly opened my eyes to the way cops sometimes treat us just because we're dancers.

    It's one of my favorites.

My favs are the ones with the stupid criminals.
"I ran from you cause I was scared"
The ones who are caught red handed and then say they did nothing.

There are some episodes with some real asshole cops on it though.

I've been watching it as long as I can remember.

It's all on tape, so I am sure their respective departments are watching what goes on.

I used to have (ok, still have) crushes on 2 of the cops from the earlier episodes. I catch them on once in a while and swoon a bit. Many of them are very kind, but I do look at some oddly who are suspicious of EVERYONE. Don't they know that many people are afraid of the police? I know I get out of the way any time I see a cop behind me. I got a $100 ticket for something I DIDN'T do because I wouldn't give the cop my number! Another officer stalked me for a while and even pulled me over and tried to arrest me under the pretense that my license was suspended even though it wasn't and I had the paperwork to prove it wasn't. Thank goodness he came to his senses (probably had something to do with the other officer on the scene) and let me go. The madness stopped when he came in the club I worked at and grabbed me across the bar. The GM called up his commanding officer and told him what was going on.

I hate that shit. I really really hate that shit.

Which is evidence of the problem, because it is not like these cops are being cited for their behavior. Abusive behavior toward sex workers and transwomen and all sorts of other people is considered perfectly acceptable in most precincts across the country. I have some friends who have had absolutely grotesque things done to them by cops, just absolutely grotesque things. I think the show is disgusting and glorifies the abusive authority that police officers are given in this country.

It can be difficult to make a recently single man pay for sex when he knows that a quick trip to the local watering hole would secure at least one hard drunken tumble for far less cash. It is even more difficult when he is something of a dead ringer for James Bond as played by Daniel Craig and possesses the sort of awkard charm and confidence that brands a man like him as a lady killer.

I have never liked this show. I know the people they are arresting have drugs or whatever and broke the law, but it makes me sad to watch none the less.

I used to enjoy getting stoned and watching cops.
I'm not sure how entertaining it would be sober.

Did you not read the last paragraph of my post? I was talking about what had been done to ME.

When it first came out I thought it was a pretty cool show. I have not watched it for a while. Gets quite repetitive. I can only watch a cop trying to take a statement from a pissed off crack addict for so long. Definitely makes me glad I am not a cop.

I saw one episode where they were using a police dog. let the dog go into a house. They called the dog, his name was Marco.

Think about it, if they call Marco, how many idiots in hiding will call out "Polo"? Easy to catch that way.
