    Default Selling Photo CDs?

Is there any market in this. I'm talking to a photographer thats trying to convince me that you can make some decent money selling CD's of nude photos online, through myspace or your own website or whatever...but I dunno, I've never really heard of this?

I know quite a bit about this if you would like to PM me. It's tough to make it big but you could get a few hundred bucks a month for a couple hours of your time if you are willing to do nude but not porn.

I have sent you a message Julia

A trivial question, how would you make the disc non-copy-able? I mean if some one buys it, what is stopping them loading on to the web, or worse still selling it on a locked porn site?

    Gosh - I sound paranoid?

Hey ALee - I replied to you by PM but I'll post my reply here in case others want to read it. Nothing will stop them uploading your pics all over the web and if you are popular enough to make even a little money it WILL happen so if that bothers you, please don't do it. And you are not paranoid. That is the norm.

    Hey,

First off, there is no way to protect your pictures. Web modeling companies make all kinds of moves to prevent pictures from being traded and shared online but if you make a site you have to accept that your photos WILL end up all over the newsgroups. This is one of the reasons you can't make intense money off it. If you are so popular that everyone wants to join your site, your pictures will be available for free all over the web. This doesn't mean you can't still make money though. I would guess for a mediocre site with little effort you could make $500 a month possibly without even doing nudity and with just doing lingerie and just a few hours.

Second, selling CDs is not the way to go. People who subscribe to such sites want to see the pictures immediately and having to wait days or weeks to get the CDs in the mail is not going to get you customers. The best way to go about it is to have your own website where people pay a monthly fee to have a password.

Since you are new to this, I'm assuming, your best bet would be to set up a website with a company that is already in good business. This way you wouldn't have to worry about setting up the website and billing and what not. You would just send them the pictures usually on a monthly basis and then get a check in the mail. Standard is for members to pay about $20-30 a month and the model usually gets around 30%. So you would get $9-12ish dollars for each person who signed up to your site.

Let me know if you have any more questions and if you would like, I can recommend some web modeling companies for you.

    Thanks for the info.

I was honestly pretty skeptikal about this idea to begin with, mostly because, like you said, you can't stop guys from uploading your pictures and putting them wherever they want.

And the sending out CD things just sounds like a pain in the ass, like you said, why would a guy want to wait for a CD when he could just sign up to a website.

personally if I was to do it, I would be selling them at private parties where I perform ... just an idea at this stage, but it could work out well

Lol. .. I am thinking of getting a calendar also for 09 - still only a thought at this stage and will depend if I can get sponsors or not and how exactly it will work - I would have to look into this a whole lot more and do my math on everything

I would love to make money just from promo gear, but I know it won't happen, but at least it will put me in front of others who don't have their own dvd or calendar

My dvd wouldn't just be photographs, but more like a movie

And if I was to do this, I would pay people to do the work rather then getting someone to fund it and I go a % basis - I hate the thought that some dirty creep is profiting off my vajajay - not a chance!
