Default Maybe its a stripper thing

Everywhere I go I don't wear makeup, wear dark sunglasses, try not to look nice and basically frumpy casual, and try not to make eye contact with men. I don't want anyone to talk to me. Don't want to be hit on either. Don't want men to stare at my luscious boobies when all I want to do is go to Target. I always cover them - not low cut shirts.

For example, I went to the gym last week (yea last week) and the guy at the parking attendant starts asking me "do you have a bf?" and "why are you single?". I'm like wtf can't I just go workout and go home w/o your ass trying to make flirty with me. I just drove off in the middle of what he thought was a conversation.

Maybe if I don't shower on my days off guys won't talk to me.

I think it is a stripper thing, yes. I had a friend in Vegas who said he could always identify strippers because they were always at the grocery store in the middle of the night wearing huge pajama pants and hats with no makeup, not looking at anyone else.

Absolutely. I just get burnt out always having to look my best that when I don't have too I don't even try. I need some time off from being a sex goddess and being oogled constantly. I'm probably the last person you'd expect to be a stripper if you saw me during the day when I'm in baggy sweats with no makeup.

Thats so funny that you bring this up because just the other day we needed an electrician to come out to our house . When he got here I was in PJs , no make up and with bed hair and holding my baby .....after being there for awhile and being the chatty sort he asked me where I worked because he KNEW he had seen me somewhere . Now since I have not danced in this state for over 3 years and I look very different i KNEW he did not know me . After he left I was joking with my mother about how 3 yrs ago that would have freaked me out . I dont think any of us want to be recognized out side of work because of the way we are recognized . No one comes up to us just to say hi , its always something inappropriate or just out of line or boring .....then comes the other guys who are just hitting on everything that walks and it just gets exhausting and boring . I get hit on alot less with my kid around and with this extra 20lbs I have on me now
Visit me on myspace , Let me know if your from SW !!!!

I go through this alot. Especially the day after I've worked. I never even owned flip-flops before I danced, I was such a high heel girl. Now I reserve the hells for work and give my poor feet a break. And sunglasses are my new best friends.

I do that all the time, I come to my day job with no make up on, hair pulled back and wearing my husband sweater. Everyone here just thinks I am really laid back, but the truth is I just can't bring myself to dress up at all for my day job. And when I am at home I am always in my PJs.

mine too! I shave and dress up pretty much only for work as well.

Rob always makes a big deal when I dress up for him, b/c I wear loose flowy clovered up clothes all the time! so when i put on makeup and look nice for him, he's all impressed and stuff! and he'll act all shocked (in a sweet funny way) when i shave my legs and don't go to work. lol. i don't even always shave FOR work!

I think it shows him I'm trying to look extra hot for him, and it's a nice perk on date nights. If I dressed all sexy all the time, it wouldn't be special. it keeps him from taking the extra hot me! for granted

oh, and it's so freaking time consuiming to be fancy all the time! My feet, and boobies need a break.

I get really self conscious in public as well, I hate the attention 90+% of the time. but at work i adore it..... i get burned out about that i guess.

    Totally a stripper thing!

I was meeting my lil sis to go to the grocery store together and she says to me, "You look like ass, do you always go out like that?" Hehehehe, yes!

Cut off sweats, big oversized T-shirt sun glasses and ponytail. Zero make-up.

And I third or fourth the no shaving legs thing.

I rarely wore makeup before I started dancing, and now I refuse to get near it if I'm not working.

I agree with the idea that (unwarranted/unwanted) male attention becomes much more annoying after dealing with it in the club.

I was pretty low maintenance before I was a stripper, but I'm the same in that I hate being hit on. HATE IT! In fact, I hate when anyone tries to small talk me up, man or woman. When I'm out and about, I want to get whatever I need to do done, I don't want to make any new friends. I'm an eliteist (sp?) homebody!

Dudez I was just a thrift store, just....thrifting around. I noticed I made less and less eye contact than usual. I was feeling negative as negative eyeball rays were watching me lift the lid to an antique washer. I thought angry things like "no I do NOT want to small talk it up to you."

I noticed my acne before hand, and the fact that I misplaced my sunglasses and was thus squinting and looking generally miserable. "Good", I thought....

I also yelled back at a bum who was YELLLLLING "MA'AM! MA'AM! 911. DO YOU GOTS CHAYNGE????? MA'AM!" the INSTANT I left my car to grab a paper from the machine.

For seriousss. It always was that way for me, and I even wonder about the minimal eyeshadow I used to put on to look pleasant. I think, who am I looking good for? Women? HA! Shoot the worse you look the nicer you're treated by women too, so no makeup is def for me.

I do this..I get really really irritated when guys hit on me. Unfortunately I've become a bit mean..for instance was at the gas station the other day..one I've been going to for 9 months and the guy is always a bit creepy-starer like but usually cool. Well what do you know another one bites the dust he comes up to me out of his booth when I'm at my car minding my own business pumping my tank he goes "what happened to your boyfriend." hello that's none of your business so I said "none of your business." I feel bad because they don't know that it's annoying to us since we get hit on 24/7 but at the same time I'm sick of these loser guys that I don't want coming up to me. I'm glad someone else feels this way and I'm not the only bitch around haha.

Don't feel bad, that is none of his business, stripper feelings or not, it's none of his damn business!!!

I'm the same way, I don't wear makeup or dress up nice because I'm too lazy to do it. I have to spend all this time dolling myself up for work, the last thing I want is to do it on my time off!

I don't know, I pretty much disliked the attention before i started stripping, but, stripping has definitely intensified it.

Only time i shave or wear makeup is for work (and even then i dont always do my legs if they arent too bad), or to see my guy

I do this and I'm not a stripper. I do it, 'cos like you, I just want to be left alone. Some of it might have to do with cheering- I get leered at all weekend long and honestly, I just want NO sexual attention at all when I'm out of uniform. It's like I OD on it on the weekends and I REALLLLYYYY just want to be left alone when I'm done.

I never wear make up or heels when I'm not working. I might not even shower and I leave the house as little as possible. Socialize on line, run errands at night when there are less people. I actually have a pair of non prescription glasses I wear when I'm running around and I have good vision.

Ironically, I dress up in heels, tight jeans and cute tops all the time and rarely get hit on in that creepy mouth-breather way. Nobody pegs me for a stripper when I'm all dressed up. Actually, a salesclerk at Prada asked me how much I'd be spending on my husband's credit card! Oh my!

When I dress nice, it's assumed I'm dating someone already because someone 'as hot as me' couldn't POSSIBLY be single, y'know?

So I rarely get hit on or pegged for a stripper AND I get to dress nicely.

As I've gotten older and hotter and have discovered my hotness, I have gravitated more and more towards "comfort clothes". I feel like I don't have to prove anything to anyone, yanno?

On another note, I also act much more shy around men I talk to in real life now because I don't want them to think I'm flirting with them and I don't want to slip into my club persona. So to men in real life, my eyes are down and I speak softly. I bet everyone thinks I'm some loopy shy girl with ratty hair and thick glasses when I really turn into a goddess at night...
