    Default ughhhhh i totally pigged out today

    I think I read somewhere on here before that one day of really crappy over-eating won't do anything except make you gain water weight. can I get a confirmation on that?

    oh and just so you know what I ate- an entire order of cinnastix from pizzhut, one lean cuisine meal, and 5/8 of a medium melty crispy pizza (or whatever it's called) from pizza hut. I believe that's about 2400-2600 calories total for the day.

    what can I expect to happen from this?

    um... really that's under 3000 calories??? wow!

    ok. I'm a dork, and i looked it up. 1000 calories of pizza, 1020 calories in the cinnasticks (thats if there are 12 in the box. add or subtract 170 per additional two sticks either way). about 300 calories in a lc meal, i think.....

    so..... 2320 calories. that's not really going to make you gain weight, just make you feel like trash for a day or more. if you eat garbage,you feel like it too.

    but this doesn't mean you can excuse binge eating and eatting junk. eat better, you'll feel so much nicer.

    Really, nothing bad is going to happen from this. You need 3500 calories on top of your daily requirements to gain a pound of fat. Eating all those carbs at once will build up your glycogen stores and cause you to retain a few pounds of water, which will dissipate within a few days of eating normally again. Binges are only damaging when they're indulged in consistently. The occasional one won't make you gain any actual fat weight and will, in fact, rev up your metabolism temporarily, thus making fat loss easier for a little while afterwards. It's why many diets include cheat meals or leptin re-feeds (a leptin re-feed is a carbo loading session intended to rev up your metabolic rate and build up your leptin stores in order to keep any restriction days effective).

    Also, if you're active, you've only eaten your daily calorie requirement anyway (2000-2500 for active women, depending on weight). You haven't gone over it at all. If you're sedentary, you may have, but not by enough to gain fat unless you go over it on a daily or near-daily basis.

    that's pretty much what happened. hopefully I've got a few more days of crazy fat burning metabolism!

    Once in a while won't kill you. I've had those days and I look back wondering really??? Did I really put away THAT much food?
    We all have binges once in a while you won't gain real weight from that, just water.
