Woo-hoo!Got my first IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) facial treatment on Monday and wow, I love the results! My skin is so soft and smooth, my pores are smaller, and my complexion is looking hella even.
I just wanted to get rid of the Discoid Lupus/sun damage, but I'm loving the other benefits. It's like turning back the clock.
For those of you wondering, I paid $1200 up front for 3 treatments. Not sure If I will need or want more yet.
Here's how it went: The technician/nurse laid me on the bed/table thingy and covered my eyes with gauze and goggles. She then applied the coldest freakin' gel known to man, to 1/4 of my face. It felt like an ice pack. She proceded to "zap" my face with the IPL wand. I heard a beep, and even with my eyes closed, gauze and goggles, could still see a yellow flash, but I felt nothing other than that freezing ass gel. She repeated this process with the remaining 3/4 of my face. The whole procedure took about 20 minutes. I'm already thrilled with the results and can't stop touching my face. I can see myself loving my skin without make-up again.
Side note: While researching IPL online I read some reviews by patients mentioning a painful pins and needles feeling. I'd rather freeze my face off with that gel.
