Default Interesting stuff to do in and around Puerto Vallarta

So this great oportunity came up, and I'm going to be in Puerto Vallarta (actualy Nuevo Vallarta) for a week in December. I'll be at a resort, but resorts aren't really my thing (unless with SW bitches )..so, can anyone recommend me something interesting to do?

I'd preferably like it to involve local flora, the ethnobotany of the area, stuff like that. I'd love to volunteer somewhere in that area for the week, if possible, in something related to ecology/conservation. I've googled, just thought I'd put it out there in case anyone knows of something perfect for me...

Hmmm, I went there and spent most of the time lying on the beach and reading Herman Hess, boogieboarding, eating seafood, and scuba diving. That's about it. Its nice there, the vendors can by pushy. I prefer the Mayan/Carribean side, or Mexico interior.

Last time I was there (shit, was it three years ago already?) there was a zip-line tour of the jungle that I tried to talk my friends into trying. They all chickened out for various reasons, the main one being a concern for safety standards in that fine country.

I was staying along the south bay - Mismaloya? I didn't go on the tour, but it'll give you an idea, maybe. Like Katrine, I mostly ended up lazing around soaking up equal amounts of alcohol and sunshine. I did go for a couple of long runs but hangovers and narrow streets didn't mix.

Sounds like fun, though. "Night of the Iguana" and all that...

Go see the Humbolt Squid! they call them Red Demons. Just stay out of the water. They are trice as mean as Jaws and they hunt in packs. Sharks are as smart as friggin rocks you pull outta your garden, Squids are smart as Dolphins. These ones are six feet long and will eat you. But they're wild to see zipping one way and another.

When i was in Cozumel there was this fisher-dude (I call him "the Fisher-King") with a bite in his side the size of a softball. Who did it? The red demon, the Humbolt squid. A contender for supream predetor on present day planet earth. SUPER interesting animals.

Why host? We can all get married. Is lesbian polygamy illegal in Mexico? I think NOT!
