    Wow.

Now I'm glad I never cared for the 'Awesome Blossom' at Chili's.

OMG- eating out packs SO many calories you don't see, like butter and trans fats.

I read somewhere that Poptarts are the worst thing you can possibly eat. And donuts- no nutritional content whatsoever. Eek!

Chipotle isn't that bad if its your only main meal of the day. Whem I do eat Chipotle, its usually the only other meal I have besides a light breakfast, for example. The burrito fills me up for a really long time afterwards. I'm not recommending such calorie loading on a daily basis, but it doesn't hurt every once in while.

Anthony Bourdain says nearly all the reason restaurant food tastes "better" than home cooking (to most Americans) is because it's loaded with butter. Very few people cooking in their own kitchens would use even a fraction of the butter they use in restaurants, and it goes in everything. Butter is delicious, but it's one of the most caloric foods you can eat. It's nearly always better to just cook at home.

If you want to eat out, go out for lunch instead of dinner. The portions are often smaller at lunch, it's cheaper, you'll usually have less alcohol with it, and you have more time to burn off the calories as you go about the rest of your day. When you go out to dinner, you're asleep with a slowed metabolism while you digest a lot of that meal, so more of it gets stored as fat.

And whether you eat out or not, lunch or breakfast should be the largest meal of the day anyway.

When I go out to eat, I am a big fan of sharing food. Its very American for everyone to get their own huge plates. Then we overeat and have no energy for later.

On a date, for example, I like going somewhere and splitting a couple of appetizers. Or splitting an appetizer and an entree.

Its crazy when I go out with a group of people to a restaurant known for their huge plates, and no one wants to share with me, they all want their own. Is it a fear of someone else touching your food? I don't get it!

Of course, I do order full entrees for myself and pig out all the time too! But I do a great deal of business in restaurants. Man, its tough!

    OMG so much sugar!!!

Jamba Juice Chocolate Moo'd Power Smoothie (30 fl oz)
    # 900 calories 10 g fat

Jamba Juice calls it a smoothie; we call it a milk shake. In fact, this beverage contains as much sugar as 2 pints of Ben & Jerry's butter pecan ice cream.

This had me thinking, I'm deathly afraid of eating out at resteraunts because of this but the only place I did eat out at and not really care because I loved it so much is Red Robin. I looked up how much the thing I get has and the Fajita Fiesta Pollo Salad has 1145 calories!!! I know they say never trust salads to be healthiest at resteruants but that is just ridiculous Almost ruined my day.

And I'm ashamed to say I've devoured the awesome blossum at chillis with my ex...not knowing that it was freaking 1k cals each geez!

Luckily my stomach is so small that I can't finish more than half a meal anyway. At chipotle I get the chicken in a salad, with beans and rice. It's yummy, you don't even need the dressing.

Wow-all that fat and sodium! And everything! I looked up my favorite Uno's sandwich (roasted toasted veggie pannini) and it's only 350 calories, but 25g of Cholesterol and 900 mg of sodium! I don't even want to KNOW what those fried green beans from Fridays run.

Holy shit! I'm pretty conscious about what I order (I tend to look up nutritional values before I go to restaurants) but SHIT! I had NO idea some of those were so bad! I used to *always* split the cheese fries at Outback with boyfriend. I knew they were bad, but didn't know they were THAT bad.

In all fairness, it does specify that it's the cheese fries with the ranch dressing. Ranch dressing is pure fat with a little added calorie value for flavor. I'm betting that those cheese fries (while still fattening and junky) are nowhere near as bad as if you eat them without the ranch. I hope so, anyway! I get cheese fries at my local bar every once in awhile, with green onions, and they're sooooo delicious. I hate ranch, thank G-d.

92 grams of fat in one sandwich. Isnt that like 3 days worth?
    14: Worst sandwich
    Quiznos Classic Italian (large)
    # 1,528 calories 92 g fat
    # 4,604 mg sodium 110 g carbs

A large homemade sandwich would more likely provide about 500 calories.

Dirty confession: my boyfriend got one of those Hungry Mans once, and wouldn't eat it because it has like 3,000 calories in it. He is very health conscious. It was the turkey dinner I think. One night he went to bed and I ate it. Or, I tried to eat it. That shit was so gross, I was only able to eat the turkey part. Nasty. He still teases me about it to this day!

Ok, I really try not to be picky, but it makes me ill to think about eating fried potato products (chips, fries, tater tots) The purpose of eating is to provide energy and nutrients in order for our bodies to function.

Fried: fat (especially trans fats! No wonder heart disease is the #1 killer in America!) Potatoes: simple sugars (fattening, spike blood sugar, and probably contribute to diabetes) There is no protein, vitamins, or nutritional value whatsoever. Just sodium. I know it tastes good, but its so bad for your health...

This makes me want to go the the grocery store. Quiznos is evil. Not to mention I always have a large soda to wash it down...

I wonder how they got the Quiznos nutritional value. Google it. You could only get them for 5 sandwiches. Recently I saw they added a few more sandwiches but you will never find the entire menus nutritional value. Now THATS scary.... but I noticed the Quiznos in Australia have their nutritional values online but the menus way diff than the US.

Chipotle - have you watched them make the rice? Butter and more butter and more butter... i get it without rice...
