    Default Bite me, Target

I got a skirt and an iron from Target from my mom for my birthday. When I tryed to iron the skirt, it MELTED. So I brought back ruined skirt and iron only to be told I needed a receipt or my mother's cc number and that it was MY fault that the skirt melted. I KNOW how to iron. GRRR. So I spoke to the supervisor who gave me the go ahead to exchange the iron. I got a new one (different, but comparable). They needed the number for the old one. The kid in housewares couldn't find it. I went back and showed him. Went back to the front of the store. Then the counterguy tells me he can't do the return b/c it's over $20. So supervisor chick gives me the number of guest services, who put me on hold forever. Finally I hung up and came home and wrote a big complaining email to Target. OMG I could scream. I will so be there during the day to complain to a real manager. No regular return I understand, but my skirt was made of cheap melty crap! AAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Ugh I hate bad customer service and being on hold for foreverrrrrr! I usually like Target and think they do a good job. That sounds like something at would happen at Wal-Mart imo. I'm curious though, what kind of material was the skirt made of?

I've noticed that all stores are becoming a lot stricter on returns. This is why i have a wallet full of receipts. Target is one of the worst!

    Aww man I love Target!!
If anything wait until after Xmas to return without a receipt. I think they are really lax at that time.

The skirt was poly and nylon. And really, didn't fit that well, but it was so cute!

I should take it to Nordstroms and test their 'returning anything' policy.

I'm feeling your pain. I had a hideous Best Buy experience today. Box stores are pure evil!

Nylon def will do that. I sometimes have problems with my iron melting certain kinds of spandex, even though other colors of the same thing work just fine. Its weird.
They should give you your money back though.

It did say warm iron on the tag. I've never had anythign melt at such a low temp! The only thing I've seen melt like that is acetate!

Which is why I always use a t-shirt to iron anything these days. I never put the iron directly on fabric anymore.

Sorry to hear about your hassles. Do you still have the tags and stuff? You could always reattach them and return it after Christmas stating, "This is how I got it...I'd like to exchange it for one not damaged..."

This is also why I never throw the tags away until after I've washed, etc them. I just attach the tags to the receipt and put the receipt into my receipt bin.

Haha. I know. Apparently they really didn't take tires back as a return, but it's funny nonetheless.

Nope, no tags. All removed. I use a cloth for ironing a lot of things I sew but I'd never had to for regular everyday clothes! Gah. Cheap clothes.

Got a return email from them telling me there was nothing I can do. Not even mentioning the rudeness of the employees. Grrrrr. Store-shopping is SO frustrating. Sometimes it's more than worth the shipping cost and waiting of internet shopping, just to not have to deal with people.
