I just started running again and my hip flexors hurt. OwieDoes anhyone know of a really good way to stretch that muscle infront besinds the classic grab your akle and push your hips forward thing ?

I hope I explain this well. Here it goes:
1) Do a typical lunge stretch on the floor. Both knees should be at 90 degree angles. If your left leg is the back leg, take your left arm and reach straight up to the ceiling.
2) Do the same stretch but this time, your back foot is up and against a wall behind you. This is more intense so start with your hands on the floor in front of you first. Then work your way up to an upright torso.
That's my problem area too. I royally f*ed mine up when I tore my groin muscles stretching for a ball at first base. I stretched it out by standing with shoulders about 6 inches to a foot wider than shoulders width, and just shifting my hips to one side, holding, then shifting to the other. Repeat and hold a few times. Then step one foot back, and rock your hips up and forward. Easier demoed than explained.
