The stupid ass dj played a gospel song for me while on stage. It messed up my whole night. I had to get drunk just to cope and not walk out. It totally messed my head up.

Troll.
What, I am so serious. He played Mariah Carey, Make It Happen. The song is about God.
If you are serious than you seriously have coping issues. If one wrong song messes up your whole entire night so badly that you need to drink it off....
And Mariah Carrey isn't gospel, lol

i would have been pissed if a dj played that for me.
could still be a troll.
People have different beliefs. That doesn't mean I have coping issues. It's just inappropriate to play that song and how can you dance naked to a song that is about God. Also, Mariah Carey may not be a gospel artist, but the song is. I don't understand why people on this site always jump on people for their opinions. If you don't have anything positive to say, don't say anything, just skip over the post.

you have to understand we've had alot of trolls this week, nothing personal.
why don't you go introduce yourself in the other areas of the board? 10 posts in a year... that's different.
If I don't post much, it's because I've gotten a lot of negative feedback. I thought this site was about support and the issues we deal with in the industry. Maybe I was wrong. This has also been mentioned in other post, the negative attitude that has developed. I am also more of a lurker.
Seriously, you guys, trolls usually go for instant gratification. They don't register then wait a year to pounce.

^ that's what i was thinking.
sorry for being wary, i'm usually not one of the negative ones. another thread has started me in a shitty posting mode.
This is exactly why I don't post much. If I can't relate to the situation, why do I need to say anything. I also don't see why this is so hard to believe. Whatever, like I said, if you don't have any positive input, move on.
I think as a customer I'd feel EXTREMELY awkward if that happened. Do they do that often? Mariah Carey isn't even ok to play in a titty bar... that's just weird. Doubt she's a troll.
Man oh man, what a trip it's been.

I dunno, I think id just laugh. I don't know that song, but when I'm dancing I don't listen to the words so I probably wouldn't have even noticed. I don't see why someone would need to go to that extreme to cope with it, unless maybe your seriously afraid of god and think hes going to spite you for dancing....seems pretty far off.
This particular dj is an ass. He plays what he likes to listen to. Oldies and songs that are just inappropriate for a strip club. He probably didn't even realize what he was playing, but I feel like it's his professional duty to know what he's playing. He is an old 60 year old man, who should have retired years ago. They keep him there because he plays old Motown, which is what the owner likes. We can't listen to any rap or "too black" music.
There were girls doing dances and they said they felt really crappy about it.

the song totally says "thank you lord" in it.
ugh. i'd be livid.
Honestly, there have been times in my career where something like that could mess with my mood enough to cause me to throw in the towel and make it a drinking work night. I can totally relate to how this made the OP feel. You just have to rise above the BS that you encounter at work and don't let it mess with your mojo, as hard as that can be sometimes.
I used to dance with a girl who'd play "Grandpa," by the Judds, lol. It was a really inappropriate titty bar song, but we thought it was hilarious.
Check out my new eBay auctions.......
"Jesus is just alright with me" (Doobies) is a great stripper song!
I play it at stags while my dancers are getting dressed, crowds love it
Watch Cordelia on The Bad Girls Club on Oxygen

seeing that i don't really consider myself a christian i wouldn't like that at all ct.

One of our d.j.s keeps playing me that "Personal Jesus" song by Johnny Cash. It feels really awkward. This is what I get for requesting Ring of Fire one time. Customers always comment on it when I get off stage.

That sucks. i'd be pissed off too.
