    Default Connecticut

I will be staying with a friend in Connecticut for a few days in December. I was planning to check out a few clubs up there with her and if things work out possibly come back up there after Christmas and work there during my break. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I will be staying in Meriden. I was thinking of Mardi Gras and the Gold Club in Meriden. What do you guys think?

I feature at Stagedoor Johny's in New Haven on a regular basis, and while it is high contact, there is money there. You have to do 15 minute stage sets as a house dancer though, which sucks. The Gold Club is really pretty and there is money there too. I have only been there once though.

Hope you find a place you like!

Mardi Gras in Springfield (it's in MA, but just over the border, barely half an hour from Hartford) might be picking back up - when I left it was dying, but the summer may have had a lot to do with that; last fall and winter was great money. Thy had good hiring standards, too. Be prepared, though, their stage is a notorious OBSTACLE COURSE, and you spend half an hour on, half an hour off (circuit stage with multiple girls). Last I was there, the contact was getting to be uncomfortably high for me, but if you don't mind some 2-way contact, it might be okay for you. Champagne Room is undeniably gorgeous. Has a bitchin' dressing room, as a bonus.

Another option in New Haven besides Stagedoor Johnnie's is the Catwalk. It's definitely a divier club, but last I was there, the contact was totally reasonable (bouncers actually enforced one-way contact, and in general were totally great & on top of any guy getting out of line). I loved the pole, the stage, and the DJs who really helped you make the most of your 3 song set. It's a tradeoff, for sure, as there's not a LOT of big spenders ordinarily. Lots of fun on good nights. If you're into stage performance, this is a better bet than Mardi Gras for sure.

I haven't worked at the Gold Club, but that's due to (a) being too close to home for me and (b) it's reputed to have really crappy meathead management. Just hearsay, though.

Have fun & best of luck!

Thank you for the information. I know nothing about the clubs in CT.
