    Newbie here!! Help! LOL

Hi everyone! Well after stumbling across this site yesterday, I decided to finally make things offical!
I have always wanted to dance for financial reasons, but I have always been too afraid and shy!! At this point, I'm like "F-it!" I need to dance!! I need to know where to get started though; I'm in the SoCal area and I want to find a club where I can make good money and where it's safe. If I can go to anyone's club from the board that would make it tens times better and I would feel a lot safer having sort of a "mentor" around. I already have a lil name picked out!! "Baby" lol....let meknow if it sounds dumb, but a lot of people have called me that because I look younger for my age (im 23) and because of the way I talk. And I don't know if it matters but I am biracial (Black, Filipino). And I cannot dance!! LOL...I mean i KNOW i have rhythm, but I have never really danced before and if people are looking I will freeze and stiffin up!! Can someone help me to get started out and to find a club??? IM SOOOO READY!!!!

i'm not sure how stripping is going to work for you if you can't dance when people are looking at you.

i don't think baby is a good name either.

not to be ugly, but i second what corgan said. get out there and try, you never know, but just because you have a vagina and boobs doesn't mean you can be a stripper. i also wouldn't use the name baby either.. good luck to you though!

Sadly, I have to third what Corgan said.

It doesn't really sound like stripping is for you, but you won't know until you try.

Eh... give it a shot. If you're quick on the uptake you will learn what works for you and what doesn't.

Use the search function in the StripperWeb tool bar and look up SoCal or specific cities. You should find more than a few threads related to your search.

    Then...
    just try it out.

Hi Ladies! Thanxs for all the responses! I hope I didnt give u guys a bad impression, but i didnt mean that I was a prude or anything like that...if that was the case I wouldnt even consider stripping! LOL...But I can honestly say that I KNOW that I am a lil shy...but I have a lot of friends who strip who have told me that they were shy at first too and nervous and that it's normal. Yeah and my friend said "Baby" wasent good either lol! She told me to try "Honey" because of my skin-tone or "Tiffany" because I like the finer things in life! LOL. But this is something that I am VERY serious about. In fact she told me I should start at the Spearmint Rhino in Gardena CA. Has anyone heard anything about this club??

Why dont you have one of them mentor you? Im another one for Tiffany over the others. The only way to know if you can dance is to go out and try it.

Search Club Chat for theads about clubs in So Cal.

Huh, I don't get why the other posters said you didn't seem like you'd make it as a dancer? I didn't get that at all. We were ALL nervous the first time, so that is perfectly normal.

And names: call yourself whatever you damn well want to. Some of the hottest girls I've ever worked with have had ridiculous (in my opinion) names, but do you think the guys cared? They are paying for strippers after all, they expect that shit. And if you feel comfortable with a name then maybe you will come across more at ease. I think the name Baby is fine, I've never heard it before and guys will probably think it is cute. I thought of the movie Dirty Dancing when you mentioned it. The leads name was Baby.

And you don't have the be a "dancer" in the real sense of the word. Sure, it helps, but to use another example, the first dancer I met who was a role model was the top girl at her club, in all the ads and generally just hot as hell, did not dance, she never touched the pole and honestly barely even moved. She would stand on stage, sort of caress her arms and while she slowly undressed she would just lock eyes with guys, one by one. It worked for her.

Anyway, I usually don't reply to newbie threads so much, but it irked me that girls stomped on your dream like that.

Go for it. You have nothing to lose.

I don't think anybody stomped on her dream, she said "I have never really danced before and if people are looking I will freeze and stiffin up". No problem with never dancing before, but people are going to look if you're a naked chick, which would create problems. I think we all also said "get out there and try" or "go for it" in some form or another.

Hi Ladies! Thanxs for the responses again!
Pookie: Thanks! I actually have read the threads, but when I searched I didnt see anything about Spearmint Rhino. Maybe I should go reseach lol! :-)

AudreyLeigh: All of my friends that strip are out of state...so I just thought it would be nice to ask someone here...And yeah I will go search the "database" for the socal clubs! Thanks!

Holiday: Thank you sooo much for the encouragement!! LOL...I will admit I was a tad nervous after reading the responses...because It seemed that no matter what I said, it was wrong, but I just ignored my feelings. So I do appreciate you coming in here with your words! :-)

Beautiful: Your right. I didnt think you ladies were stomping on my dreams...it was more so just the curt responses had me taken aback....but you ladies were giving me the advice that I ASKED for, so I do appreciate it. And that's why i had to clarify in my third post, because since I never did it, I have the fear that I will "stiffin" up. But any-whoo I did appreciate your's and everyone else's advice! :-)

    Thank You Ladies!

Just go and check out the club whenever they do auditions; call them. The reviews for the clubs here are often out of date. So, take the closest thing to a stripper outfit -- highest heels and shortest and tightest dress -- that you have and jump right in. That's the only way to find out what it's like and if you can handle it. Good luck!
