    Default Calorie Question

I just signed up to a site called fitday.com it is an online diet website that counts your calories and exercise , but I just don't know if I am using it right.

Does this sound right to you?

    Today I at:
    1 mango
    1 cup of lettuce
    1 roasted chicken breast
    A 1/2 cup of cheese
    1 cup of cherry tomato's
    Small tin of Tuna

The website is telling me that I ate 685 calories, this can't be right? I feel full and not hungry (just fighting my sugar cravings)

I am going to look on other sites, but your knowledge would be very appreciated

    Thanks xx

You won't necessarily feel hungry every day that you undereat, but you should really try to eat more than that on a regular basis...

No, because you would wind up malnourished and would most likely start fainting all over the place in a few days, particularly if you are at all active.

You can totally lose the weight. But if you want it to stay off permanently, you have to not starve yourself.

The calorie count of what you ate looks about right. The amount of calories is frighteningly low to maintain your body's processes.

Argh - I knew I shouldn't of ate it... but it was a temptation I couldn't fight.. I bought light cheese to make it less of a guilt trip, but I don't think it worked

Eating that few calories is actually detrimental to weight loss.

That few calories is a shock to your system, so your metabolism slows way down to conserve weight (I thtinks your starving, so it begins to store up fat) which can make your weight loss stop, or even go up.

You MUST eat over 1000 calories a day. Depending on your size, 1200 calories tends to be a good minimum. Fo rmy height and build, I can eat up to 1500 and still lose weight.

A good site is sparkpeople.com. You enter your height and weight goals, and it will tell you a range of calories you should be eating, as well as many calories you should be burning per day via cardio.

A couple of words for you

    Lite N Easy

find what the Melbourne equivalent one is for you. Seriously.

I used to be a member awhile back as their meals were great! I couldn't cook some of those meals if I tried!!! LOL!

Plus, what love handles? You have less body fat than me!!! You couldn't have gained that much in over a week?! Make sure you are being realistic. Check you BMI all the time.

I agree, that calorie count looks about right. I'm a calorie counting freak, and yes you do need to eat way more than that, but get healthy calories in! I'm 5'6 and 110 and I eat about 1,000-1300 cals a day. I'll count my calories as I go through the day and if I haven't had enough I eat a protein bar or something else healthy to get enough calories.
