Default More about cleaning stripper heels

I've seen a couple of threads about people having problems cleaning stripper heels lately. I just wanted to share that I found a great solution for me. I got home from work feeling fed up about how funky my heels smelled. I always take my shoes off for dances so I can stand on the couches, and I kept noticing that horrible stripper feet smell wafting up into my "trying to sell multiple dances" zone. The stank totally cockblocked me.

So, I stuck them in a washbucket of hot water and bleach, and it totally worked! I left them in for a little bit, took them out, and scrubbed them down with a dish brush and they look as good as new!

Most of the stuff mentioned in the other threads didn't work for me. Maybe I just have extra nasty stripper foot stank.

Did the bleach mess with the colour?

Well, they're clear heels so no problem there. I wouldn't try this on non-clear heels. I'm guessing that wouldn't look so pretty.

It actually made the suede foot pad part light again, instead of that grimy gray color they tend to turn.

Cool thanks! If I get clear heels I will def try that. I just bought some odour-reducing food powder at the drugmart and so far that is working for me.

Thanks for the tip, LL. I'll have to try this when my shoes start to get terribly fugly and stanky.

Thanks. My shoes don't stink but they get discolored and have black streaks on them.

I'm going to try that!!! Thanks for sharing. I was just about to toss another pair. I can't stand the stink, but spending another $40-$60 bucks every 5 months or so sucks.
I'm confused, but the Chewbacca Truffle Shuffle cleared it up. - Emily

    I did this yesterday.

It is awesome. The lining of my shoes is WHITE again instead of dirty grey and scuzzy and gross. And no more smell.

Hell yes. Thank you for that.
