    Default Sea Monkeys

Does anyone remember these ? I asked for them at Walmart and I thought they were going to call security . They thought I was nuts. The kids in the toy department were like, "theres no such thing as sea monkeys!" and I was like , "yes huh !"

Back me up people. Do you remember them ? I want to get them again.

I had tons when I was a kid. I saw them yesterday at Y Que in Los Feliz. You might be able to find them on the there... funny you bring this up, I had the same burst of nostalgia when I saw them and I almost got them for my secret santa swap but I didn't know if she'd like them or not.

Edited to add: Yep, Y Que has Sea Monkeys ! G-d bless Y Que!

I can't believe they didn't know what Sea Monkeys were!
I used to love Sea Monkeys and actually wanted to get some this year when I moved into a little place where I couldn't keep pets.

They are not freeze dried plankton.

Sea Monkeys = Brine Shrimp. That's it.

True. It's still really cool that they are like freeze dried or suspended animation . Add water + life packet=weird little swimmy creatures = amused children and Twister.

Wait a minute--they are actually alive?

    Damn...

I never had them, I didn't know that.

Hmm, maybe I will get some. I always had ant farms, which are pretty neat-o as well.

I don't remember very clearly... I just remember them looking like these little bug things and we like... killed them... so they seemed kind of disposible to me at that point (before that, I'd always wanted some). So then I was like, why would people want a tank of these bug-looking things?! Heh, he turned me off of them for good. Did I mention that this particular teacher was known for being a totally kook?
