This is going to sound so nasty...but I really like chicken livers wrapped in bacon. My best friend makes them every year at christmas. They sound disgusting but taste so good...especially with the mustard dipping sauce she makes for them.

^that sounds interesting...I've never had chicken livers before but I guess wrapping (almost) anything in bacon and serving with a mustard dipping sauce makes it lip smacking good.
I am seriously in love with these cookies pics! Note the tiny bacon bit pieces and the maple sugar glaze...mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Oh my another bacon thread, Bella?
How are your bacon people babies?
http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sho...ght=dear+bacon

snipped form the site....
"This whole thing started the other night when my husband and I were having a conversation about what foods could and could not be made better with the addition of bacon.
Sure, that was a good salad, but it would have been so much better with bacon. That was a delicious baked potato.. I wish it had some bacon on it. You know what was missing from breakfast this morning?- bacon. I think we've come up with so many foods which bacon can enhance, that we really were wondering what foods it wouldn't."
For some reason this whole interchange cracks me up.
I love it when Bella talks about bacon. I feel less alone.
Bella, I actually have to thank you for helping me. Months ago, you posted a link to bacon chocolate. The wheels in my head began to turn. When I started pondering what to make my parents for the holidays (I always make them something, not buy, because they have everything and are never forthcoming about whether or not they'll use something I buy) I immediately thought of the bacon chocolate.
First I thought about making bacon hard candies, because I though hard candies would be pretty and unique. But according to the internet, making hard candy is like doing a chem lab experiment, and I damn near failed chem. Nevermind. So then I thought chocolate candies, sticking with the original theme. Okay... chocolate truffles. With super awesome ganache, gooey on the inside. Ganache with bacon. OMG yum. Because that's bacon, chocolate, and cream. So I made my bacon ganache, and it was great, but a little too soft to stand on its own (stupid poorly-proportioned recipe). So I thought... I could use it for sandwich cookies. Sable sandwich cookies. Tender little grainy butter cookies that I could stuff with bacon ganache and decorate with little pink icing pigs... perfect! And I will call it... "This pig is most delicious" (see below), part 1 in a 6 part gourmet ganache-filled sandwich cookie series entitled "LOL Cookiez: They has a Flavor." Other varities include "Invisible Chili Pepper," "My pineapple, let me showz u it" and "I Can Taste Teh Lavender."
So thank you Bella, and thank you, SW.
P.S. Sorry about the threadjack, but I did it out of love.
P.P.S. I can share my recipe if you like.
Drought was over. Where was I? Drinks were on the house.
For mixers, my love, you'd poured--what?--even the rain.

^lol @ TOTH![]()
Grill bacon, add cheese, lightly toasted bread and mayo. That was my lunch yesterday!![]()
TOTH, your mom is gonna die (in a good way). What an awesome gift.

TOTH, you rock.
I didn't know you were creative in the kitchen like that! I love love love the bacon ganache-filled cookie idea!
I am also determined to try the bacon-chocolate-chip cookie recipe one of these days. (But Toth's idea sounds soooo much better! I do want the recipe, teef!)
I have also been eyeing a recipe from Feb 2007 issue of Gourmet mag, for Chestnut Ice Cream with Candied Bacon.
mmm....Candied Bacon. How could it be bad? (Basically, you just cook 1/2 lb of bacon halfway, then drain it, then cook it the rest of the way along with 1/2 cup of Demerara sugar. oh yeah.)

I am seriously having to wipe my chin to keep from drooling all over at this thread. And I am trying that recipe as soon as I freakin possibly can. (The Hubby needs to bring cookies to his school...wondering if I can get away with sending these!)
Sigh, Ive recently given up bacon.
There was a time when I was eating up to a kilo a day, I loved it that much.
Bacon was the last meat I gave up when I decided to go vegetarian back in my teenage years (13)... and it was the first meat I gave into when I became pregnant at 21.
The best bacon Ive ever had is English Apple Smoked Bacon, but no more... good bye bacon sigh.

I just thought everyone would like to know that....
I just ate extra crispy maple bacon. Oh yes.
\
I went to a barbeque one time where there were these little hot peppers stuffed with spiced cream cheese wrapped in bacon. they were on the grill and looked pretty good but weren't ready when I left, so haven't actually tried them.

I want a BLT now.
waffles are just pancakes with little squares on them.
Damn... I shouldn't have made this thread! *mouth waters*
Mmmm, low-sodium chicken soup! *lies to herself*
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
And all I have to say is GUINEA PIIIIGGGGG! Squeeeeee! Thanks TOTH.
