Default My sleeping pattern sucks, what to do?

I got off work at 2am and it is 11:20am, I have not been to bed. I have been sleeping at all weird hours for the past month and i'm pissing myself off . Should I just stay awake and pretend like I just woke up, so I will be tired when I get off work tonight?

If I go to sleep now, there are things that need to be done, that won't get done and i will probably wake up at like 7pm and get to work by 10pm, and start the whole problem over again.

If I stay awake I can do everything on my to do list and be at work before 7pm. Then when I get home, try go to sleep at 3 or 4am and wake up to my alarm ar 12am (ultimately the schedule I want).

SO i have had this problem for about a month and I keep knocking out and being late or missing work all together.

    How do i fix this?!

Well, I've come to terms with my sleep pattern. People who work a nightshift in clubs/bars/wherever still have to get their sleep. Just think about it this way: If you need 8 hours of sleep every 24 hours to function properly, that leaves 16 hours of waking time. So just figure out when you want to be awake. If you prefer to sleep, wake up, shower and head to work, sleep from 12pm until 8pm and then go to work. When you get home from work take care of errands you need to run, and you can still get some stuff done in the AM like banking, etc, that needs to happen during business hours. And if you want to sleep when it's dark, hit the bed when you get home from work, and take care of chores when you wake up before getting ready for work.
Sometimes it's hard to make yourself sleep even when you're tired, so make a sleep ritual. Bath before bed, or hot tea or something to calm you down. It will get you in that groove so you're ready to snooze.
    Good luck and sweet dreams!

I've done this before when it just gets to the point of no return. But there were some other things that I had to do along with it to aid in that reset of circadian rhythms.
    1. 5HTP at morning
    2. melatonin at night (won't make you go to sleep, but relaxes you and promotes REM sleep)
    3. working out
    4. opening blinds to allow natural sunlight to flood through the window during the morning and awaken my body, or if privacy is an issue, get some sort of paper/Japanese windowshades that allow the light to pass through
    5. in a previous house, actually had to go sleep in a different room for a while so as to have a window facing towards the sunrise in the mornings

gonna try these tonight, I am still awake. I brokedown and took a 2 hour nap, but I feel great now. I will def. take the melatonin as soon as I get home, and try not to get on the cpu. Workout after I wakeup right?

That sounds like a good idea. I notice when I work out during the day, it rejuvenates and energizes me for the rest of the day's activities. Although, there are sometimes when I work out at evening/night too, only because I figure getting a workout in is better than getting none or slacking on it.
