So we have been a military family for the 4 years we've been together. Now he may have to leave the military, maybe not. If he does he will be out in Aug '09 with a B.S. in Computer Administration and a 2nd or 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I will be recieving my teaching degree aug. '09 as well. (It's a big month!)
We have a daughter who is now 9 weeks old.
If he stays in the military, he will have to retrain into another job and then be moved to another Air Force base within 8 months of January. I won't be able to go with him b/c of my college. I CANNOT and WILL NOT transfer again. I would have to start as a sophmore and retake two years worth of college, not to mention the sheer expense of such a transfer. So that would leave me with a year and half alone in the house we bought potentially with the baby.
THAT is where the trouble starts. If he stays in the military, what do we do with the baby while I am still in school and he is moving? I CANT have her with just me b/c the program is too intense and 5 days a week she would be in daycare from 7am to 7pm. She cant go with daddy during that training period and while he is moving.
And if he gets out of the military we would be venturing into the great unknown civilian world with no jobs but we would have potential. He wants to work as a TKD instructor and open his own school with NO knowledge of how to run a business. It's a scary thought. BUT he has a B.S. in computer admin. I have my teaching degree.
Any suggestions, thoughts, ideas that may help? If he stays in, what to do with baby? If he gets out...well...that's a different matter...
