    Default where to move to?

So those of you who don't know, my SO is getting out of the military in two years, and we need to start planning for it. One of the big things is Where to go? Since there are so many people on here in different parts of the country, I figured I would ask for your opinions.

We are debating between Massachusettes, Rhode Island, and South Florida/Florida Keys. Since we have a child now, I need to take schools and such into consideration as well as how the clubs are and how the "normal" jobs are as well.

Any tips, thoughts or suggestions on these areas?

I'd wait until after next november's election results to make such a decision. Depending on the 'direction' that the country takes, it could have a big impact as to which states' economies might benefit vs. which states may not.

well, it'd help if you say why you are interested in those areas. Personally I'd pick MA because I lived there for 4 years and loved it, but then others wouldn't because of taxes and the high cost of living.

Just such a big difference between New England and Florida!

New England is where I grew up, and I love it there during the summer, spring and fall. I love the coast so that's where we'd be, and it has all of my family in the region.

I love florida during the spring, fall and winter. I love the beaches and the great weather. Also my husband grew up there and that's where HIS family is, lol.

The cost of living is high in all those states, so regardless of which one we pick it's gonna be expensive.

What can I say, we have expensive taste. lol

If it were me, I'd choose Florida. But my delerium due to lack of sun for the past..like month..might have affected my answer. You guys should visit all three places then decide.

Well, I HATE Florida-too hot and crowded for me. I loved Rhode Island though it can be a leeetle provincial depending on where you live. Providence IS a really nice city. And I LOVED Mass. So expensive, but-Boston! Are you looking to go back to dancing?

Wow, talk about totally different areas. I live in MA, but how did you narrow it down to those and what are you looking for in an area you live in?

were it me I would stay right there in Colorado Springs. The economy is doing well there despite the rest of the country.
