Default Getting in shape & toned up for audition

Ok. I had a baby about 7 months ago. Thankfully, I only came away with 5 extra pounds when it was done & my body didn't suffer too much "damage". But it's definitely not what it use to be.

What are the best ways to get in shape & toned up to audition? Besides actually dancing because I don't have anywhere to do really dance.

SQUATS SQUATS AND MORE SQUATS!!! Ur legs, thighs, and butt will tone up well!! And for your tummy....you can either powerwalk fast or just do regular sit ups...also drink warm/hot lemon water after every fatty meal....and you can also take coconut oil to lose tummy weight!! trust me it works!!!

Running always helps me lose weight and tone up my legs. And spin classes, and green tea is oh so good for losing weight.

it has ideas to deal with it until you are toned. dancing will tone you up. with flattering outfits you wont need to wait to dance.

I have to agree, especially since there wasn't too much gain (congratulations on the baby, by the way).

But I have to recommend Carmen Electra's Strip for Fitness until you're ready to go back because it gives some good ideas for when you do get back to dancing, gets you into shape in the privacy of your own home, and the second disc is all about aerobic fitness (and it tones FABULOUSLY - I used it before I started dancing)

It actually doesn't hurt your back at all! Try it out. The old school outfits crack me up in that video. Spandex is.. not hot.

For some reason crunches hurt my back. Maybe I'm doing them wrong?

Yea, doing crunches hurts my back 2. It's already a little screwed up. My daughter was 8lbs. and apparently too big for my frame 2 carry. Maybe it'll get better when I don't have to carry her so much.

I stopped hurting my back after not straining my neck.

Do your crunches with only your tummy muscles & use your arms as support for your head but not to use your neck as a form of coming up in your crunch. Does that make sense?

If you strain your neck you will feel it in your lower back - I know I sure do.

You do make sense. I tried to keep my shoulders a little closer to the ground and not pull my neck up as much today (after watching the 8min abs video). It worked a bit better... plus I mix it up with lower ab work.

But if your back gets sore from crunches I've also found pilates to be very easy on the back/joints/body.

OMG!! I did pilates for a millisecond. That killed my back. Even with the instructor right there showing me how to do them right.

I suggest LOTS of squats. That's where you'll feel it when you start dancing.

If you want to totally kick your own ass, there are Cindy Crawford's workouts that are easy to do at home.

^^^ that's the VHS version. There are DVD's out now. I use the old VHS in the old TV/VCR unit we have in the spare bedroom. It kicks my ASS!!
