I just started dancing too, and one thing that really helped me was being friendly while getting ready and smoking a cig or something. Don't be annoying, but strike up conversations and give the girls a chance to let them know you're not stuck up. Nobody is there to make friends, but I garuntee if you're social there will be a few girls to help show you the ropes. A lot of girls at my club are very sweet and forthcoming with tips.

Another trick- tell EVERY SINGLE GUY in there you're new to the game. They love this. I have never made as much money as I did my first night, b/c I kept hustling my lap dances for more songs so I could "practice". Tell them it'll pay off when they come back and get a dance from you next time, b/c you'll be much better

When I first started someone told me to remember who tipped you on stage and thank them when you go back to the floor. After awhile I realized that was just advice to "get you started". It stops you from being a barfly.
In my own experience... you can tell when someone isn't interested, just like at a regular bar scene. And you can tell when someone is. If a guy smiles at you or maybe looks at you or makes eye contact for an extra second... walk over and say "Hey (smile big). Want some company?". If they don't offer to buy you a drink within 3-4 minutes, say "I'll be back in a few, I have to (do something)." While you're gone the guy can think about how lonely it is without you there and he may start to think "Hmm, did I chase her off?". He may come to the conclusion that he offended you by not asking for a dance or offering you a drink. When you come back to his table, his attitude might be more friendly. If it isn't, move on to someone else.

^^Yep. Beat that into the ground for a couple of weeks. It pays like it will never pay again.

Don't sit at the bar all the time! For the next shift, make a goal. Tell yourself that you will talk to 30 guys. Introduce yourself. Tell them you're new. Tell them what Aubreyyy said above. She has a great suggestion on what to tell them.

If you don't move around the room and talk to people and ask for dances, you're gonna starve in this business. If you come across as shy or awkward, all will be forgiven when you tell them you're new.

Wow, and here I was thinking that if I tell guys I am new that it might turn them off. My first night is tomorrow night and I will be sure to take this advice with me!! Thank you...I know it wasn't for me, but it may help anyway!!
