Default Pregnant chicks and other chick experienced with being preggo please help me!

I posted this in the random thread and than realized I should post here.

I'm about 7 weeks pregnant. This is according to Planned Parenthood based on my last period, not an ultrasound.

I don't have morning sickness at all. BUT, I have no appetite. Today I had a glass of orange juice and one half of a half of a cheese sandwich. I'm not hungry at all. Anyone else experience this? Is morning sickness supposed to come later? I heard that it was one of the first symtoms.

I do have other symtoms. My tits are freaking huge. I'm popping out of my 34DD bras, I suddenly have developed acne, I have this weird pressure type feeling in my lower stomach, and my vaginal and body odor has... changed. I don't know how to explain that, but I smell different.

    Help?

I agree with Beauty. All of your symptoms so far are normal. I had to seriously force myself to eat for the baby because I had no appetite for the entire first trimester and even halfway through the second. I finallyyy got my old appetite back and it's wonderful. Hopefully you'll get yours back much sooner though!

Oh yeah, I didn't really experience morning sickness until I guess how far along you are right now and it got really bad a few weeks later. Hopefully you'll be one of the "lucky" ones who doesn't get to experience that!

Totally normal. It's the change in hormones.

I have no appetite my first trimester and actually lose weight until I hit around 6 months...then I'm ravenous. With Makayla I gained 19 1/2 pounds...with Adrian I gained 24. So far, with this baby, I've lost 10. I'm not nauseated anymore, just never hungry.

I would advise, however, that you get a good protein shake and drink it 2x's a day. That's what helped me (and helps me now) with my pregnancies.

With Makayla and Adrian, I did not get morning sickness at all. With this pregnancy, though, I got knocked on my ass for 3 weeks with massive nausea (never threw up, but just having my eyes open made me feel sick...kind of hard with 2 kids to run around after!).

So, the morning sickness means nothing. Some women get it, some don't. If you don't have it...be happy. It sucks. LOL

Other than that, eat several small healthy snacks a few times a day (even if you do not feel hungry) and drink those protein shakes 2 x's a day. Take your prenatals and get plenty of rest and drink plenty of water.

    Congrats!

*bows to the Goddess of Venus*

I definitely had all-day-long nausea. Didn't throw up at all first trimester either, but felt basically carsick all the time, punctuated by ravenous hunger (but only for very bland, starchy things - all I really wanted was toasted bagels with cream cheese). I wish they'd never started calling it "morning" sickness, either - I've heard many more women describe it as constant nausea rather than something that stops around noon, and then the many women who do have it all day worry that something's amiss . . .

Anyway, I wouldn't worry at all, LilyLove. My mother claims she NEVER felt sick at all with any of her pregnancies, and she had FIVE healthy babies. Other women are attached to the toilet and have trouble holding anything down at all. Most seem to be somewhere in-between with carsick-like yuckiness.

I think the suggestion to drink protein shakes is great. Even if you're not hungry, it's pretty easy to gulp those down. Take the prenatals too, and plenty of water (crucial, even though you'll be peeing all the more - it's essential to placental function), and that really should do you just fine until your appetite kicks back in.

Which it will. With a vengeance.

    Trust me.

I think that's pretty normal. I never experienced morning sickness throughout my pregnancy (Maybe it will be different the next time). Like VenusGoddess, I lost weight for the first 5 months (I think it's awesome.lol) Congratulations

By the way, along with "What to Expect", I'd also recommend "The Complete Book of Pregnancy and Childbirth" by the awesome Sheila Kitzinger. I have both (well, okay, I have umpteen books on the topic), and I find Sheila's point of view refreshing, though "What to Expect" does have a lot of good basic info.

What i found strange being pregnant (i was very young and scared) was i lost weight the first month or two. My doc. kept telling me this is very very normal. But i was scared.

Then the damn morning sickness, i could not stand the smell of perfume. After that everything pretty much got back on track for me and it was smooth sailing.

Oh my hair was very very lush, after baby major shed. That worked itself out too.

Hormones are a bitch. But normal. It gets better as you go along

The only thing I did not like about "What to Expect" was the "diet". It's WAAAAY too much food! You do not need to eat that much food. Eat small amounts of food and make sure they're healthy choices. The whole notion that you need to eat that much food is outdated and unsafe (too much weight gain). If you're craving a lot of sugary stuff (normal) eat sweet fruits first. If the craving is still there, then feel free to eat something sugary (within moderation).

You are NOT eating for two. You are still eating for one but being more conscious of what you put into your body.

I never had morning sickness either but I was incredibly tired and exhausted all the time. Try to make healthy choices (like whole grain bread vs white) so that the little bit you do manage to get into your body really counts. The protein shakes are a good idea, I am a die-hard Spirutein fan I get it from my local health food store. They come in all kinds of flavors and taste just like a damn milkshake. Right now I have Blueberries and Cream but also like Cappucino and Chocolate Black Cherry. I'll try to find the ingredient/nutritional list and post it for you. Keep in mind this list is WITHOUT the added values for milk.

    Lily congrats!!!

I also lost my appetite during the first trimester. Food sounded so gross! You are normal. I theorized that it was natures way of making sure you don't eat anything poisonous or something. Your baby has different needs at different times. When you get your appetite back just eat as healthy as you can and remember that your body will give the nutrients to your baby first and what ever is left over you will get, so be careful about eating enough iron rich foods and all that - I got really anemic.

    Congrats again!

You seem to be going through normal pregnancy symptoms. I smelled wierd too. And according to my hubby, I tasted different as well! lol
With my baby, I was sooo sick for the first 5 months. I was losing a lot of weight b/c I had a hard time keeping foods down. THe Dr. put me on a special for that b/c she was afraid for my health and for the health of my baby. But that is not common.
But yes, the what to expect book does have you eating a lot! But for some it works for some women. Just make sure that you are eating healthy foods full of good stuff for you and the baby. You don't need to eat a lot if what you are eating is nutritious. Since I was sick I wasn't eating much but what I did eat was very healthy. I ended up gaining 30 lbs throughout the pregnancy on that diet of the Dr's.

    Yay for you!

I have never been pregnant and so can't offer you any advice, but I am excited and happy about everybody's babies. 2008 is going to be the coolest year. There's going to be a whole batch of very good-looking children born to very cool (and obviously, very good-looking) moms.

Heh, that makes me think of the conclusion my friend finally made during her first pregnancy. The doctors and midwives basically have two answers that cover everything: Either "Oh, yes, that's very common," or "Well, every pregnancy is different." Totally true in my experience thus far!

Pregnancy is very, very different for every woman. Some get morning sickness, some (lucky bitches, lol) don't. Don't stress about it, but do make sure that what you DO eat is good for you and the baby. Just WAIT til you hit that 2nd and 3rd trimester, you won't be able to get enough food, and you'll cry when it's not there immediately.

Thumbs up Re: Pregnant chicks and other chick experienced with being preggo please help me!

FYI for stretch marks, religiously apply 'almond oil' to hips, thighs, breasts and belly. This is the big secret .
Apply whenever you think about it. When you wake up, after your shower, at lunch time... anytime.
This product prevented me from getting any stretch marks at all!
I was 130 lbs before pregnancy, and 205 lbs at birth.
Also drink lots and lots of water, along with 5-10 portions of fruit, and veggies, 2-3 servings of protein and 3 servings of dairy ( some bread and crackers for morning sickness will make up for grains. It is also very helpful to walk for at least an hour a day. This will help your body to stay in better shape, and relax you and the baby.
The advice on this thread is very resourceful so check those out too.
Good luck on the babies girls

I guess I should have mentioned before that I'm not sure if I'm keeping this baby. It makes me sad to hear all of these congrats. I'm not sure what's best for me yet. I made an appointment for an abortion and I couldn't get in till after Christmas so I have until then to decide. Its so strange to feel so pregnant since I probably won't keep it.

I guess I just wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with me. God, this is so hard.

What to Expect When You're Expecting was my bible when I was pregnant. But I was like that too. I wasn't hungry barely until my 3rd trimester. And the morning sickness was very slight to nothing at night. Good luck.
