Default Do you choose a set list based on what your clientel likes?

I love all types of music and enjoy dancing to a variety of styles...but does anyone choose to dance to music that you think "your" particular "type" of customer would go for? Most of us dance for all types of guys various ethnic, age groups, soiological status..but I seem to have the most success with men from fourty through sixty, usually white guys but alot of guys from all different backgrounds...lately I have been incorporation eighties rock into my sets like, Mick Jagger, Van Halen, Rod Stewart, Hewy lewis, ect. and I have noticed more tips on stage from these guys and alot are like "come and find me when your done" wonder if you think this makes a difference in your stage money???

I play to the crowd that is there at the time. If it's mostly younger guys I'll play top 40, or newer rock. If it's middle aged and older I stick with 80's rock. But in reality it probably doesn't matter what you dance to, as long as you look good that's all that matters.

Metallica is a band that brings a lot of guys up to the stage just because they love the song. Older yuppie guys with lots of money love 80's rock like Sweet Cherry Pie and anything by Van Halen.

But I still prefer to dance to what I like and I think I look a lot better onstage when I'm actually enjoying it.
