well, I'm sure that I'm not typical, but I'll relay my experience anyhow.
Way back when I gave birth to my son I had a C-section ... and as a result I had a lot of scar tissue. When I first went in for tummy lipo, the doctor had a lot of difficulty getting the residual fat to separate from the scar tissue holding it in place. On a second try with ultrasonic assistance, my doctor was able to clean out a bunch of residual fat ... more than either of us expected.
Now at that time I was dancing full time plus modeling etc. and was a real 'workoutaholic'. So basically even if I was doing road trips and eating poorly, there was no way that any fat would 'stick' anywhere near my arms or legs or butt. And with the ultrasonic lipo there weren't any fat cells left anywhere around my middriff. So if I was on a road trip and hitting Denny's after the club closed eating fatty junk food for a couple of weeks, and managed to gain 5 pounds, my body really had difficulty figuring out where it was 'safe' to store that extra fat. My body eventually figured out that the only safe place was my boobs ! Thus if I did gain 5 pounds, at least two pounds of that extra weight went straight to my tits.
Actually, considering the size of my implants to start with, this became a real problem for me in terms of back strain ... so now I have a fairly strong incentive to watch my weight and eat smartly.

Yeah, I've considered Lipo for a while and I read that if you were to regain weight it wont be stored in the places you had fat removed. I wanted to get my thighs and stomach done - but I dont want to get really fatty arms/calves/back/etc someday if I ever fall off my diet. That would just look funny :-)
I'm kind of worried about this too. I want to do my thighs and worried I'll put it on elsewhere, but my thighs are already too big for the rest of my body so hopefully I'd just gain proportionately IF I gained after. I'd like to gain in my boobs though.

A girl I know got lipo twice. After the first time she ate poorly and gained it back in the same places. So it can come back in the same places. Once fat cells are full your body will make more and fill those up.
