Oh my god TELL me about it!! I hate my natural health and rythyms and shit getting all screwed around with because of the job.![]()
Poor girl! You sound exhausted. Can you take an extra day off to recover - when you're tired and stressed like this you might also get sick.
I have the same thoughts as you all of the time. I've been sick 4 times in the last three months!!! I fucking hate it. Out club is always freezing and it's dirty as hell - I KNOW that they never clean, because I work openings and I work closings and the stages are always filthy, the bathrooms, the locker rooms...it's just nasty. And damn Portland lets people smoke inside, so you breathe second hand smoke all night long, half the dancers and staff are sick all of the time, because they have crappy immune systems from doing coke/drinking/NOT WASHING THEIR HANDS AFTER THEY GO TO THE BATHROOM all night long. It's just gross.
Whew. That felt good to rant. I swear, I fantasize about sneaking in some Lysol and a mop and cleaning that damn place.
Oh, and your boyfriend is a jerk! Tell him to keep it down so you can get some sleep!

I hear ya, girl. I was excited to go back to dancing because I thought I'd lose weight. Nope. I may get more exercise at work, but I don't workout as often because I'm sore, tired, hungover, plus the "smoke hangover" from the nasty secondhand smoke (Idaho is still in the dark ages).
Every Friday night, it's the same thing.... I go to bed at 3 am with the husband promising to be quiet and not wake me up. Every Saturday, his alarm or phone wakes me up at 7 or 8. LAME.
It's hard to be a dancer and have a perfectly healthy lifestyle.![]()

Can you work every other day?
Oh the drive to make better money at a better club, sucked. Making sure my daughter was well taken care of. Worried about being followed by a custy, the smoke, the customers coughing on you, the pants that killed the ld's, the shoes...the list goes on and on.
Yes, Stripping = Stress!
I have the same problem with the gym. I was more toned before I anced because I made it to the gym more!
And I have a long drive (not as long as yours but a little over an hour) so I usually stop at wendy's on the way home...and it's not that practical to eat a salad and drive.

i could have written that same post almost exactly. When i take a break, i actually have the time and energy to exercise more, eat healthier, am better rested, and just feel overall better. To make matters worse, i work both day and night shift, so its this huge mess of going to bed at 5 am one day only to get up at 9 in the morning to get ready for work another day. i wish i could work out as much as i used to but the days that i work i hardly have any time, not to mention sometimes my body just physically hurts. When i work i refrain from eating the whole time i'm in the club, so when i get off i have a huge stomachache and will put the nearest junk food i can find into my mouth. It fucking sucks.
It's days like this that you should make yourself go to the gym!!! You'll feel so much better once you do!
You should also start packing a healthy snack for the drive home so you're not feeding yourself that fast food garbage. Plus you'll save money.

Maybe you can switch to working days? Then you wouldn't be so tired all night!
First of, I can so relate! That driving thing is what makes it so bad. I used to drive to Chicago and dance (whenI lived in Milwaukee). What I finally did was rented a room in a house for 400 bucks/month and split the rent with my cousin who was also dancing down there. It's just too much when you're that tired. I once LITERALLY drove down an OFF-ramp because I was lost and tired, and no, I had not had a drop of alcohol all night. I had to bust a u turn on the freeway to get going the right way. I seriously could have killed myself. It would really be worth it if you could either rent a hotel room or offer a girl you trust at work 20 bucks a night to stay at her place or whatever. That really made a big difference to me.

Take a deep breath. It'll all be fine. You don't have people coming over or anything right? I always get crazy overwhelmed when the house is a wreck - I think it'll never get clean, but then it really doesn't take long to get it looking okay. You'll have time later. Have a good night at work!

Ugh... this is where having a spare room comes in soooo handy - dont have to worry about being woken up by hunny.
But I feel ya on the schedule. I feel so much better when Im on a normal schedule.
LOL!!!! Cutey, you and I are cut from the same cloth. This happens to me all the time. I have SUCKED at time-management lately. I normally do ok, but the last few weeks have just been nuts. I don't know where the days go... I wake up as early as possible and before I know it, I have to go to work or have something important to do and I feel like I've done nothing all day!
Off topic a little: I bought a cute sweater from Macy's a week ago and the girl forgot to take the ink thing off. The nearest mall is 20 minutes away and I had to make a special trip just to have them remove it. After waiting in line for 20 minutes, they told me I couldn't have it removed without the receipt, which I thought I had but didn't. There goes an hour out of my day for nothing. I was ready to cry.
I think we need a Stripperweb Spa Day.
Can you pre cook your meals and put them in like gladware, take them to work and store them in fridge so when you get out you don't have to eat crappy food?
Like take some fruit in and stuff, maybe a sandwhich. Also after you have your first two drinks, drink water after it so you don't get dehydrated. I know when I drink at work it just adds to my stress/health probs.
Or, could you possibly stay at a hotel by the club for 3 days out of the week, and then commute home after the weekend.. 2 hours one way is a huge commute!

I have a long ass drive too! I leave at 4:30 to get to the club by 6pm (rush hour, don't even get me started on that) and stay till close, 3:30 then 1:30 ride home. Being so tired, sucks bad. I totally feel your pain.
The smoke kills me too. My throat hurts by the end of the night and if feels all yucky. I really wish they enforced that law!
I'm sorry your frustrated. Tell your boyfriend to stfu when your asleep! Thats so rude!
Oh my goodness... he cooked you chicken, rice, and SHIT?! That is NOT healthy!
(Heh, sorry... I couldn't resist)
I hear ya, though. I started working at peepshows instead of the stage club and I'm drinking SO much less!
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
