I'm concerned that you're still congested and having sinus pain
3.5 weeks after a rhinoplasty/septoplasty.
Did you have a post-operative pack or stent to hold the cartilage in place? That's usually removed at one week or so and you should have no appreciable sinus blockage after about two weeks. Pain at nearly a month post-op is a reason to see your doctor.
If you normally breathe through your nose during sleep, the combination of discomfort and breating through your mouth are often enough to wake you up before you've had a full night's sleep. For one, it dehydrates you and can even change your breathing pattern.
Slow breathing is critical to restful sleep. You can train yourself to fall asleep by breathing relaxation alone, but it would be hard for you to concentrate if you still have pain/discomfort.
You can knock out the anxiety and sleeplessness with something like Klonopin or Ativan or any of the benzos, for that matter. Dalmane and Halcion might be better for long-acting benefits. You can also try something like Ambien or Lunesta, both of which are designed to keep you asleep throughout the night. These are receptor agonists, not benzos, and sometimes have odd side effects like you wake up suddenly and realize you are driving your car down the street in the middle of the night.
