Be sure your brand is made of SAFFLOWER not sunflower oil. Turns out they both have the active ingredient BUT safflower has a lot more of it. http://www.wellnesspartners.com/tonalin/faq.html

Thanks for the heads up! I'll go check my bottles now.
Maybe this is a stupid question, but why couldn't one just take regular safflower oil instead of trying to swallow those giant pills? I loved the effects of Tonalin, but stopped taking it b/c the pills make me gag. Is it possible to get the same effects from taking plain old safflower oil? If so, how much oil is equal to a capsule of Tonalin?
Mine just says CLA(conjugated linoleic acid)....it doesnt specify the oil...?

Thanks for the info. I haven't tried Tonalin CLA yet, but I'm planning on it!

Yeah, you read my mind! It turns out the acid is an extract of the oil. The oil in the capsule is a delivery system for it so your body can assimilate it easily. You can still get benefits from using safflower oil BUT not nearly as fast as the concentrated, isolated acid.
Cam, hopefully it's on the inactive ingredients list otherwise I'm stumped!

Eh... mine doesn't say what it is... time to look for a more specific kind... maybe it'll be cheaper, too![]()
Does anyone know what kind of oil the cheap ones from vitacost.com have? I was reading in another thread that they work as well as the uber-expensive ones.
