    Default stripper gear thrift store

ok so I had this idea earlier what if there was a dancer store/ lingerie store that had new AND used dancer outfits and gear. a place where you could bring your old outfits that are in good condition and either trade them in or sell them to the store. the clothes would be less expensive and more variety because well different people different outfits some that havent been sold in years but have never been worn ect...

    so opinions? thoughts?

That would be a really good idea. I'm thrifty so I would totally go for that. I always hit the reduced/clearance racks at all clothing and stripper stores.

I'd totally go for a stripper/lingerie store with a consignment section.

That is a such a fantastic idea. I love thrift stores and I love stripper gear. I wouldn't buy any um underwear of course but hell yeah I think it would be really cool and a good way to find clothes that aren't being worn by ten million girls at my club.

I for one buy a lot of outfits and never wear them, or wear them only once.

Good idea in theory. Someone make it a reality!

Yeah, that's a great idea! Stripper outfits are always overpriced and there's always ten million girls wearing the same thing.

I would totally go for it. If people can buy other people's used stuff on ebay. I don't see why it wouldn't happen in a real store. Let us know the turn out!!

I think that's an awesome idea! In some ways I think it's a tad gross, because it's not t-shirts, it's lingere we wore while grinding on nasty men. But still, it's a cool idea. It's common to borrow and trade outfits in the dressing room anyways. Nobody bring t-backs!!!

Nothing gross about it if you wash the clothes a few times first.

Its common in Western Canada for girls to sell their costumes when they tire of them, which include t-bars.

Wash the clothes thoroughly before selling them.

A local dancer that has a pole dance studio did a costume swap/sale, she also had a costume seller with new merchandise. It was a great idea but not many showed up, it's hard to get dancers to do anything.

Its illegal to sell used panties in the US anywhere. Even if they are washed thoroughly. Though washing the clothes well would be best. The store will smell like strippers locker room if not washed well.

I think its a great idea. I also think it would be great to offer new items such as shoes, thongs, accessories.

LoL I think im leaning more towards the re-sell of tbars that go to costumes(ie the one in my siggy pic). Seeing as shes looking to sell costumes and outfits im assuming she would be dealing with theme costumes and such as well.

I dunno...lots of features/showgirls everywhere sell costumes to eachother.

The T-Bar to the costume in my siggy has a lot of detail on it with rhinestones and beads... not something thats easy to get re-made.

I think it would be a neat thing to have, but from a business standpoint I don't know how you could make it work unless you lived in Vegas or somewhere else that was full of strip clubs. For instance, here in Indy there would not be enough dancers to support such a thing. And I'm sure that's true for many cities.

I guess I am saying I think it sounds great in theory, but wouldn't work in reality.

What about an on-line consignment store?

I ride horses, and people do that with a lot of their tack.

Also another thought...what about a stripper-swap msg board? Like, people post what they have to give away, and what they're looking for, then you can wheel and deal and haggle privately.

^^ Yea, I like that idea.

A online stripperwear consignment store! Id so send you a bunch of crap to sell!

And Agree with the point of being in a large metro area with lots of dancers.

The first thing that came to my mind when i read the OP was - my DR is practically a thrift store. girls are always selling/trading dancewear.

I subscribe to a tack-trading msg board and it's really helpful.

Hmm...maybe I'll start a forum. Would you ladies like invites?

i like the idea. I have tons of quality outfits that I want to sell but I just can't deal with ebay at the moment.

It is true that your customer base will be very small. I would definitely suggest expanding to include non dancers, i.e. make it very friendly and hospitable to non industry, sell nice lingerie for personal use, or super sexy clubbing wear also. Or do the whole porn shop/dancer store combo.

I've had the idea myself of making a sexy stripper store that caters only to women. So girls could also go in and buy all there sex toys and girl porn.

I would like an invite as I bought an awesome School Girl outfit from here on SW from a member selling hers.. and even with postage.. it still was a good buy!

Plus if Cally or similiar showgirls are interested in selling their costumes... I'm definately looking for a couple more high quality showgirl costumes for next year.
