As usual, pulling no punches !

Thomas Sowell doesn't even mention the guy who shares his philosophy: Ron Paul. It just goes to show you that he wasn't really a CONservative after all, just like the rest of these phony bastards (Rush, Hannity, Beck, Bush, et al.).
It's no wonder that the Repug Party is rapidly shrinking as people realize that the most of the leading Repugs are really liberals who masquerade as conservatives. The Repigs have been fooling the rank and file for 30 years but now they're starting to catch on.
The Repigs are finished as a Party; they have no credibility. I expect them to be in the minority for the next 40 years, unless, of course, they steal more elections with the help of Diebold voting machines.
It must be sad and demoralizing for the average Repug to know that the people who they thought were on their side (Limpbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Sowell, et al.) are all frauds, traitors, and cowards.
Here's a funny Rush Scumbaugh video:

Ron Paul in 2008!

Hopefully your Rush bashing video provided the intended cathartic effect. However Rush Limbaugh isn't running for president in 2008 any more than GW Bush !
I don't know why Dr. Sowell did not make mention of Ron Paul in that article ... other than perhaps to avoid 'supporting' him publicly. There is certainly a great deal of common ground between Dr. Sowell's published viewpoints and Ron Paul's political principles ...
- on 'nation-building' v. 'non-intervention'
on gov't solutions to problems caused by gov't
on tax rates v. economic growth
of course this is not to say that either Ron Paul or Dr. Sowell is a 'classic' conservative ... Ron Paul is a libertarian and Dr. Sowell's conservative roots do deviate from Dr. Paul's positions in many areas ... i.e. legalization of prostitution and marijuana to name one such position.
While I think he's spot on about Hillary, Edwards, Thompson and Huckabee I think he's selling Obama way short. I don't hear the echoes of the 60's the way Sowell does and if there are, then they are of the more positive variety. The idealism and eagerness to face the challenge of the future without the self indulgence and racial strife.
Of all the candidates the only one who has come close to impressing me has been Obama (and maybe Biden but only on Iraq).
I'd rather see him handling outgoing mail at the Bureau of Weights and Measures.
Richardson is doing nothing more than auditioning as Hillary's running mate.
His solution to EVERY foreign policy problem is to "negotiate" which is fine up to a point. What he forgets and doesn't mention is that WE have OUR interests too and they have to be protected and that negotiation doesn't always work.
gosh I don't know about that one. I think it's a pretty well accepted thing that she won't pick another minority to run on her ticket. Sad as it is the truth of the matter is even in 2007 there are just too many voters who are hateful towards anyone who is not white. Republicans may have more of those types in there voter base but it exists on the Dems side too. Especially in the deep south. Plenty of voters will have enough of an issue with her for no other reason than she is not a man. Even if they can handle voting for a woman I just don't think those votes will stomach a woman and a Latino or Black as her running mate. I wish it weren't so but I'm afraid it's just realityI'm betting Hillary will pick a white man to run as VP. I'm guessing it will be Biden because they have been working together for years. It might be Edwards because he is in the top 3 of canidates but I'm feeling Biden more as Hillary's choice for the reason I mentioned before.
Ron Paul is your best candidate if you truly believe in LESS GOVERNMENT in peoples lives... he has my support.
I think Clinton, Romney, and Giuliani have been better vetted in the national media than the other candidates. I think the race will come out of those three.
Obama has church issues more than Huckabee. Ron Paul has too many associations with fringe groups like strormfront.org, the Taft Club. Plus he wishes to pursue an isolationist foreign policy

if the economy continues to deteriorate in 2008, a ticket of Hillary versus Bloomberg is a distinct possibility.

^^^ are there still any classical Republicans around these days except perhaps Fred Thompson ? IMHO they should just change party mascot from an elephant to a RINO !!!
