    Default Toddler Question

When is a toddler ready for a toddler bed?

My son is 16 months old, climbing out of everything, and is currently sleeping in a playpen because it's the only thing that can keep him in (and he's starting to figure out how to get out).

Since we will probably moving in April-May, I'd rather have him get used to the toddler bed now so that it's one less shock to go through once we move, and he'll have time to get used to it. Or should I hold off until after the move?

I don't think it's too young. If he's already climbing out of everything...you may as well get him something that he might not feel so "boxed" in. Get him a toddler bed (or you can even just get him a twin bed...one less thing to eventually buy).

If you decide to get the twin bed...just get a mattress and boxspring and keep it on the floor. When he's used to sleeping in the bed (or when he gets older) you can add a bed frame to it.
