I averaged lowest in January and July of this year.
However, the numbers could mean nothing.
Maybe base your decision to work on a financial goal instead of your odds of banking (which are about the same year-round.) That way you just go in to work, regardless of the season, and do it until you meet your goal.
I have a dry erase board in my office with a thermometer marked in $50 increments. I come home and color it in according to how much I make in a night and watch it go up. You know what? It still goes up whether I have a good night or a stellar night, and I always win because I'm closer to my goal. It's kooky, but it makes me happy.
All that to say I get a lot less disappointed and jaded at whatever particular club I'm working at when the focus is my goal, and not circumstances I can't control.
it's pretty slow. but there are less girls on and you can get lucky. it's kinda like monday everyday IMO

ok. not to be mean but this is just the same as "no point working in december?" and my answer will be the same. there is a point working in december. there is money working january. there is good reason to work in the summer. yes, you should work when school starts. there is *always* an excuse not to work and it seems like every time of year is "bad" if you read the threads on this board. yep, some nights will suck. and some nights you will bank. but you never know unless you try. and as i've also said in other threads, hell, it must be nice to be able to just not work instead of risking not having a good night and making nothing at all.
but what do i know. i'm only one of the top girls at my club![]()
(seriously, i'm not trying to be mean. i'm just sick of seeing these posts that there isn't any money out there. because there's a new one every month/season/whatever, and clearly it isn't true or every one of us would stop dancing.)
i have never worked on a new years eve. last year i switched clubs the week prior, and had been planning to work, but my new club was closed. my club now is closed too. the girls who did work who i spoke with after last new years said they did well, but the location of that club makes it hard not to on a busy holiday in baltimore.

January is consistently one of my best months.
Rebecca Avalon
January is the month we look forward to at my club!
My best months are always January, one year I made $10 k in January !!
Starting with tonight I am going in and will give it my all. Hopefully I can crack the old record.
Yeah...according to threads on SW...
No point in working in Dec., Jan is a bad month, then we have summer starting in June -Sept....
So basicially, as a stripper, we can onyl make money Feb,March, April, and then Oct., Nov.
That's only 150 workable days out of the year. But then figure in days off...
And out of 356 days, only 100 of them are workable...
No wonder a lot of people complain about not making enough money! They think every day is a bad day!
I wonder what would happen...
An experiment:
Take the worst day of the year, based on your past averages. Tell your self over and over that it is the best night of the year, and can easily break a grand. Get really worked up and excited over it.
Wonder what would happen? I bet that there would be a nice jump in earnigns for that night, if you went in with the attitutde it was the best night instead of the worst.....
Every profession has it's up's and downs, good times and bad....but you know? Every single night at work I hear someone blaming the night on their low income. It's just slow tonight, it's just this season, ti's this, it's that....
It can be right atthe heart of the busiest season, btu someone saying " Oh, it's the clientele here tonight. Everyone's cheap. Nobody is spending.
There is always some excuse!
What would happen if we stopped blaming the enviroment and took some responsibility?
I admit, I am guilty as well, but I've been learning somethign lately....If you blame everythign else, and don;t take responsibility, you cannot change it. If it's the crappy night or the bad customes, there's nothign you can do about it. But if you take responsibility and say, Well, it may be slow, but that's a good reason to try harder.... I bet amazing things would happen!
Anyway. Sorry to rant... I've been all motivated lately![]()

^ yes, absolutely! positive thinking! if you're frustrated and complaining, and then turn on the charm, people can still sense that annoyance you're feeling. and honestly? everyone has bad nights. and that isnt because of anything else other than it happens. excuses are just that - excuses.

Actually, I am very frustrated. Everytime I know I need to go to work, I end up talking myself out of it because I think, "Well, there's no money to be made, so what's the point of going in." Which is why I started this thread, so that it would give me inspiration to go it to work more often. Girls, thank you for all the replies. I just have to keep reminding myself to not listen to the rest of the girls that are convinced that winter months are the worst, and just get my lazy butt to work.
^Change your thinking.
Instead of there's no money to be made, what's the point"
say
There IS money to be made, I just have to find it.
Like a treasure hunt. Treasure hunts are fun, right?
Thanks, Britt and Kaylinn particularly. That was exactly the reality check I needed. Honestly, when I started dancing I was enthusiastic about working every night. I'd see other girls complaining that there was no money in the club, and I'd be the only girl pulling customers back to the LD section all night. It's easy to get sucked into feeling like a victim of circumstance, but just as easy to take charge of your money. A very good reminder.

Well actual New Years sucked for my club. Nothing but Indians (tons of them; I've never seen the club as completely packed with them as it was tonight) and young moronic kids that all thought they were the shit. And all were horrible tippers so there was no money being made on stage at all.
I went in last night and made 4 bills, that was cool and unexpected, exp since it was all Indians in the club like Zinaida mentioned. But they were all bathed and dressed up, and had money last night, so that was good!
There is one way to look at it: if you don't go in you're guaranteed not to make any money, if you do, there's a very good chance that you will make something.
The positive attitude, even when you're down in the dumpy, is a real winner: cut the outside world off from your work world and concentrate on the one with a total exclusion of the other.
The week leading up to Christmas Day was one of my best, EVER. No girls wanted to work, and regardless of the fact that the club was not packed, I made *hella* good money and was going non-stop for 7 hrs every day. I worked NYE and today and both were *great* days for me. Again, I look at this as a game of ratios: it does NOT matter if the club is not "busy". If there are hardly any girls working, who cares if the club isn't packed? There are just enough girls for each guy.
I make more money on days when the club is slow and there are less girls, than when the club is packed and there are girls everywhere.
~Makenzie

Okay, the night before NYE was a Sunday. I only went in because I was bored..............................and banked! It helped there were only 8 other girls on as well. It surprised everyone.
NYE was awesome as well. If I wasn't concentrating on party-ing so much on NYE (thus drinking) I probably could've cracked the $1k mark rather easily as I came close even without hustling. I really wasn't on my game that night.. I was too busy wanting people to buy me drinks and getting drunk... the money just came to me.
Once again it helped there were only 11 dancers (including me) working.
New Years Day night (1st Jan) I have no idea. My club was "desperate" for dancers to work however not desperate enough to drop the fee. So I didn't bother as I have memories of this day elsewhere being far from lucrative. All my memories show that NYE is the lucrative night. NYD night is rather slooooow.
Yes there is money still to be made NYD night however nothing like the last two nights it seems.
I'll find out how Wednesday (2nd Jan) and Thursday (3rd Jan) will end up... I'm not holding my breath it will be a fantastic week this week. It will pick up again (hopefully) next week after people have worked for a little bit and gotten their first paycheck of 2008.
There are a lot of people and businesses who had a week or fortnight's break returning to business "as usual" now.

I made double the amount I thought I would.
Depends what part of the country you're in. Chicago, NY, Boston, might not be doing so well because all the people come down to vacation in Florida. That's what I think based on all the out of towners I meet here. Jan- Feb has always been good for me.

This past week has been rather on the slow side however money was still there to be made .... just that you had to "work" for it. It didn't come quick and easy. That's the Gold Coast and that's my specific club tho' ... it could and can be different for other clubs and places in Australia.

^^sounds like my club since i've been back to work this month. The money is there as always, just not as apparent. You really have to hunt for it and work for it. It just separates the hustlers from the pansies.
My average still ain't what it was in the fall. O.o
So maybe it IS the season? At least for me/my club?
Tallyhoo I can still support myself so no bitching here
